Just watched a wonderful but short tribute to Bill Shankly, on Sky Sports.

Can barely believe he retired almost 40 years ago. What an inspiration he was to so many of us.

Great manager and great man.  Wonder what he'd have made of Sky and the Premier League, and players valued at €100M?

No idea, but I do know that players never messed with him, they did not dare.

I loved him to bits, hung on his every word.

I don't know anything about shankly (really), but the above statement does not show the mark of anyones class. Not in the slightest

It does to me, but you must think as you wish. Managers must manage, not subordinates.

Just like Alex Ferguson did.

You say this like an England manager (or former manager) has a divine right to go into the Chairman's suite?

Tom Werner is at Anfield today and I can say without a doubt he has class. He's a knowledgeable man, always has time for a chat with any member of staff and wouldn't intentionally offend someone. Let alone the England manager. (Is Hodgson even offended? How would Winter know if he was? Can you see Hodgson ranting and raving that he's not in the Chairman's suite? I can't)

And let's be honest, Winter isn't a staunch Liverpool fan is he?

This is such a non-story there aren't even lines to read between.

Agger & RVP hate each other. Worth keeping an eye on.

Obv Moyes is doing his usual Everton thing, kick the shit out of the opposition's best player.

LFC on the other hand seem determined to wind up RVP.

Liverpool need to give a decent second-half performance. Something we haven't seen so far this season really, and can't afford to step off the gas and let Man U dictate the tempo.
