What a dull first half.

Attacking, Liverpool are amazing. Defensively, we're appalling.

I thought Reina showed quite a few signs of falling away last year. Whether this was temporary of a permanent drop in form, tricky to say. Only 31 years old, after all

Whether Mignolet is the answer, too early to say. Still young and obviously not got the rounded game of a fully fledged top notch keeper

Fair comment about Reina (more the year before for me) but still better in his sleep than Mignolet.

I don't think spells under Dalglish and especially Hodgson helped Reina at all. His statement after he left was awful, so I don't have any love for the guy, but genuinely put him above every other major club's keeper bar Spurs.

Very harsh that IMO, for 2 to 3 years Reina was not producing the goods and looked half arsed doing it, when he was good he was real good, but don't forget when he first joined how it took him time to settle, remember the Everton game? Mignolet has made some errors yes but he has also pulled off some brilliant saves and IMO his distribution has improved as the season went on, he could command the area a bit better but Reina wasn't exactly coming out and claiming crossed balls himself.

SM doesn't command the area, position himself as quickly, distribute half as well plus his timing looks like it's off. He's a great shot stopper I agree but that's a standard required attribute. I am not convinced at all.

I'd like to hear Tighty's opinion on SM.

What did Reina say when he left?

The usual sour grapes. Defended his desire to go to Barca as first choice then had a pop at Rodgers for organising the loan behind his back.

Good news is you've brought Toure on to shore up the defence.

He'll probably get the winner now.

Just need to work out which end...

Can't keep out-scoring teams.  But great result.  Now scored more than City.

Joe Allen made a big difference when he came on today.  As soon as he was on, Gerrard and Henderson both were able to influence the game more.  Was surprised at Sterling being subbed when he was, but Rodgers got it spot on.

Dull game though.  Need a sit down now.

We are so bad at defending its unreal.

Mignolets decision making is abysmal , heaping more pressure on the shaky defence.

If Sturridge scores against Southampton he'll become only the second PL player to score in 9 consecutive games.

Van Nis did 8 and then later did 10 in a row* (8 at the end of one season, 2 at the start of the next)

Seen on twitter:

"Imagine how many goals Liverpool's attack would score against Liverpool's defence?"

Not looking too bad at all.  Think any Liverpool fan would have been happy if they'd been offered this position at the start of the season. Got to look at 4th as Liverpool's to lose now.

Still a long way to go, but 6 points ahead of Spurs and a huge goal difference in Liverpool's favour gives a bit of breathing space.  Some big games coming up, but it's definitely the best league campaign Liverpool fans have enjoyed for a fair few seasons now.

Although more goals conceded than any other side in the top half, other than Newcastle.

That's the best Allen has played in a long time
