Only United's 55th consecutive live FA Cup game in a run going back 12 years. It's what the football nation wants...

semi final on wednesday. good point, my bad.
does anyone else think TV game selection is all wrong?
why do we want to see Utd v reading, liverpool v plymouth and spurs v villa?
a) the big team should be away to increase upset risk
b) the big teams get exposure on tv every weekend anyway
show me barrow v rochdale and wycombe v stourbridge rather than Man U, again...
Hang on a second....
Last season City fielded a very weakened team in the 5th round as we had an away last 16 tie in Kiev midweek then the league cup final on the weekend, and we were accused of throwing the competition, Liverpool field a weakened (ish) team with only a semi final on the horizon and its fine?
I think the TV focus for the 3rd and 4th rounds should be the smaller clubs who have made it that far, then switch the attention to the 'bigger' clubs from 5th round onwards when naturally this will have filtered out most of the lower/none league clubs.
Obv exceptions are if you draw a City/united, Spuds/Arse, Pool/Everton type game early doors, but really no need for WHU vs City, united vs Reading etc to clog up the tellybox for the 3rd round.
The biggest criticsm of City last year for resting players came from Shearer despite the CL game and LC final in the following week: "I don't get resting players"
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/35627605
Apparently, he has now turned full circle and after the Liverpool game today he is saying "Klopp was right to rest players". LOL.

Times interview with Klopp about the young players. He really seems to want to develop them rather than buying new players all the time.

I felt like if Milner was playing instead of that idiot at left back they would have found a way to score a goal or 2.

They could have had 15 men out there last night and still wouldn't have scored.
Lots of lovely sideways passing ,no penetration.
Dire.

It's become apparent how much Liverpool are missing Mane. His movement and pace make the space that Coutinho, Lallana and Firminho were feasting on early season. Without him they look decidedly one dimensional to me.
I really don't understand Emre Can's role in the team either. He seems to slow everything down, similar to what Rooney was doing early season at Old Trafford.

Liverpool may come back to win this
so without being results orientated
here we go again. nine changes for the FA Cup. No European football. On a bad run so a good result would be useful
on the other hand chelsea on tuesday and its the 10th game in 30 days
what do you think of the team selection today?

No European Football ... Realistically out of the Title race ... Out of the EFL Cup ... and you make 10 Changes !!!!!! #LFC #FACup #Bonkers

Don't get Klopp playing his reserves with no European football. Shows a lack of knowledge of the depth in English football and respect.

Do you reckon Klopp would rather finish 2nd or win FA Cup? I think I'd rather finish 2nd.

Meanwhile Wolves made seven changes too.

For Klopp and FSG, unfortunately Chelsea is the bigger game and resting makes sense.
For the fans, it's shit because we want cup runs/trophies. Bottom line is money talks, and there's more money in the group stages of the CL than winning the FA cup and having to play on Thursday nights.
Now we have one target, the CL. If Klopp doesn't get that, he'll be in trouble, unfortunately.

Nobody cares about the FA Cup and the disrespect is going to only increase. Fixture congestion is real and the £ isn't high enough. Implement a winter break or get rid of replays otherwise you won't see a change.

The death of the FA Cup was Utd pulling out in 2004 to go play a commercial game in South America. GG thereafter.

The fixture congestion is caused in no small part by the international breaks.
Scrap those before getting rid of the FA Cup or implementing a winter break.

private jet has been delayed. Do me a favour. Klopp just said we will see how he feels about Mane. This is surely first world problems. If he lands tomorrow you just get him off the PRIVATE JET (every luxury possible available for him) and straight to the game and play him. Anyone else think managers make excuses for players? Sitting on a private jet for 3/4 hours can't be much worse than sitting in a hotel in Lolapool waiting for the game to start. If he is flying 15 hours from south america i sort of get it but this is just bullshit surely?
