Lots of cafes in and around Wynn.  None of them called South Point, so keep your phone handy or just roll up at Terrace Pointe imo.

The French toast is pretty good, but a bit same-y and does sound rather foreign, so you may not like it:

Have you girded your loins and sampled the roast pork, roast duck and rice platter at Noodles Asia yet Tony?

That's my staple diet at The V and Tom was a willing convert showing remarkable dexterity with the chopsticks.

That's the one right by the Cardroom Ralph, yes?

Well no, "noodles" sounds way too exotic, & foreign, to me. Thewy forced me to eat in a noodle place once - "Wagonama" or somesuch, in Amsterdam, it was dreadful, like a school dinner-hall, so did Maria in some other place. Never again.

I wander down to the Food Court though, & get a plate of chips & a sticky bun on occasion. Got to experiment when visiting far-flung places, I say.

Best - only - meal "eaten at a table" of the trip so far was brekkie @ Grand Lux, with LilDave, Dom, & some Fenland inbred lurker, a few days ago. Perfect food, hash browns, snotty eggs, sausages, & good company, really enjoyed it.

I am really socially uncomfortable when dining with others, in fact I self-examined at length wondering if I had almost Aspergers type symptoms, I am so mentally uncomfortable it almost hurts. Eventually, I concluded that it's just that I don't like "social-dining" even with the very closest of friends, "inner circle", a mere handful. It's down to me, not others, I just feel so out of my depth doing funny food & chit-chat. In a way, it sems such a waste of time when I could be doing things. That is not intended to be as rude as it sounds!

LilDave contacted me last night, he says he owes me dinner, & he is flying back from LA to Vegas today, so suggested Dinner on Wednesday. I freaked out. I like him - a lot, & really enjoy listening to him, but he used the word "dinner" & I sort of freaked out. I replied - "yeah, or we could do BREAKFAST" & he wrote back & said "yeah, brekkie is fine". And I was thrilled & relieved - "brekkie" is fine, it's not a threat to my comfort zone, & brekkie food is something I like, & understand. What an odd state of mind.

Anyway, we are meeting for brekkie tomorow at "South Point Cafe", which he tells me is in, or near, The Wynn, so I'll jump a cab & go along, & I will really enjoy it, & I'm not even scared. If it were dinner, I'd be scared, & looking for an excuse to cancel, or swerve. Over the years, I must have swerved hundreds of Vegas dinner invites, & offended many good friends, but I can't help it. Go figure.

Every year, I help "Host" the Sky Poker Viva Las Vegas qualifiers & their Guests, it's the highlight of the year for me. Except the bloody welcome Dinner, which I dread. Thewy was there this year, Mother too, & lots of good friends of mine from next door, which helped, but if I could have blanked it, I would. I just keep looking at my watch, food is something I gulp & go, I struggle with all that chit-chat. It's me, not them.

I think I'm a bit wrong in the head sometimes.

Well for starters there are no noodles in the "roast pork, roast duck and rice" platter, noodles are not compulsory at Noodles Asia. It is a simple dish which arrives at your table just a few minutes after placing your order; authentic Chinese fast-food, simple and tasty, nourishing as well.

I understand your aversion to sit-down dinners which are a) time-consuming, and b) everyone else except you is drinking, but I do not accept your aversion to reasonably priced and easy to find "proper" meals such as the "prime rib specials" to which I alluded earlier and which you clearly would enjoy.

Why not set a new trend and "kill the dinner-break" by going for something to eat?

Right I'm done lecturing.

French Toast? That's fine - I had it at DTD.

No "South Point Cafe" @ Wynn?

Could he mean this place? Is it near the Wynn?

Can we compromise on a KFC?

I did dine - happily alone - one evening @ the Buffet in Mirage, $40.

I had roast turkey, mashed potato, gravy, & for afters, bread & butter pudding. Beat that.

Well almost through lecturing although I feel that I'm wearing out my fingertips to no avail here.

I always stick to the two meals per day routine in Vegas, a late breakfast/brunch as I love the American breakfasts and a solid meal in the evening. My rationale for this is that Vegas tries to get everyone out of their routine having no visible clocks etc. so it's my own personal counter-attack.

That's it I'm done, really.

I finished reading "Big Short" by Michael Lewis - GREAT read.

My choice for next up, all purchased @ the Airport book shop, are......

"Seve" - the Autobio.

"Too Big to Fail" - the inside battle to save Wall Street.

"Life" - Keith Richard's Autobio.

"One Click" - Jeff Bezos & the rise of Amazon.

"Steve Jobs", by Walter Isaacson.

Oh, I'm fine with Brekkie in Vegas. When we do the Sky Poker annual trip, we always begin with a big brekkie, combined with our sort of Management & Production plan for the day. But I'm alone this time, so I can't be arsed. With company, I'd have brekkie here daily - they do the best brekkies on earth. Whenever, & wherever I go away, I always love to have brekkie, but not alone.

Evening meal, not so much. An omelette sarny, & a slice of cheesecake, in my room, ticks all my boxes.

I always used to go to the cardroom and pick up a poker magazine to take with me if I was breakfasting alone.

So let me get this right now:

You don't like to eat alone and you don't like dining in a group???

After my K-K into A-A carelessness late on in yesterday's noon affair, I played some Omaha Cash, but the Table aggro'd up a bit, & young Rich Hare - remember him - joined us, which I much enjoyed.

For some daft reason, 3 of us sort of got silly, & got the lot in pre.

Rich had Aces double, (diamonds & spades) the other chap & I both had ds rundowns, mine BOTH being dominated by Rich's suits, ugh.

We agreed to run it twice, the flop came d-d-d, what an anti-climax!

Omaha Cash loss on the day, exactly $500, my first Omaha cash reversal of the trip, & sheer stupidity.

I've swerved today's Noon NLHE, going instead for the 3pm $500 PLO. Really looking forward to it.

I probably know a few people in that book, I used to knock about the King's Road in the early 1970's.
