He gets more like his Dad with every passing day, & has become a figure of fun. But there is not an ounce of bad in him, & he remains a force for good, notwithstanding the burden he carries as a Royal. God bless him.
He was on Countryfile (or something similar) the other day doing a meet and greet at a school who produce their own fruit and veg. As we was meeting the kids, I actually thought for a moment he was his Dad, and was just waiting for a moment of harmless comedy bigotry.
But as you say, he actually seems a nice enough fella. While I am not necessarily a big fan of the royals, Charles, Harry and Wills all seem like fun chaps.

It is SO easy to knock, mock & diss anyone or anything, & is becoming more & more common, especially on Forums inhabited by self-proclaimed experts at everything.
An extreme example is Sir Alex Ferguson, who dropped a top player the other week, & the fans Forums went ballistic with "Sir Alex has lost the plot". And those fans
really think
they know better than Sir Alex.
Last year, in a big Golf Tourney, the 21 year old (?) sensation that is Rory McIllroy mentally imploded, totally, the pressure got to him & he threw away a Tournament due to pressure.
He was (approx) 21 years old.
Someone on here described him, & I quote, as
a fucking clown
.
I think Rory won the next Major.

2% please
Does this mean you will not be playing the main event?
2% booked with PLEASURE. I shall need to change my sig again. Thank you Keith.
Main Event? I have not given any thought to it, to be honest. I would probably be available to play it, but I really think I am "the value" in Hold Em these days. I assume you are alluding to the incredible staking thread which Greeky started last year as to myself, & maybe Tom, too, playing the WSOP Main. Fair bit of water has passed under the blonde bridge since then, some of it rather muddy...
Put up a staking thread, it would sell out within 24 hours.
And you and Tom would have an absolute ball.
You can't put it off forever, because eventually it will never happen.

Got to agree Tikay. Everyone is an 'expert' these days. Criticising others and needing them to fail is the biggest sign of failure in oneself. Those who do it are out there doing so and those who don't sit around and pass judgement.

Don't get me started........I am absolutely fine with constructive criticism, but wowzer, you do seem some incredible stuff sometimes from folks who have no idea of the complexities involved. It is SO easy just to say "how stupid is that?".

Case in point - Neil Channing has been responding to community members who are full of ideas and suggestions for a live tournament this year. He has given a very full answer as to why most if it is just not viable. Poker is such a world where everyone knows better.
I'm not belittling people who have taken time to give some thought and put forward suggestions themselves by saying that - I think that is great. Just some people think they can tap on a keyboard they have dreamt up in one minute that the organisers have already spent months musing over and trying to shape.

Boom!
Nailed it perfectly.
If you read the 2+2 thread on the ISPT Wembley, there are a thousand people - almost literally - who will tell us why it will NOT happen. Which does not require a deal of imagination to say.
I've not seen anyone say, or realise, exactly why it is win-win for DTD to get involved. Their Online Room, & European profile, will rise stratospherically because of this, & even if they lost, say, £250,000 on the gig, (& they might, when peripheral costs are taken into account) they would still be long-term winners.
Even if they got it round their neck, they would still be long-term winners. RyanAir & Michael O'Leary, who are absolutely THE BEST at what they do, recognized long ago that all publicity is good.
While Michael & his fellow Directors of Ryanair sit there in the Boardroom every Monday morning, wondering what to do with their mountain of cash, I very much doubt they give a hoot about Team Diss.

I think Dave Shoelace wrote a very good article on DtD getting involved with the ISPT - after denouncing the event and suggesting it was almost dead in the water. He made some excellent points akin to yours here Tikay.

Never trust that Shoelace fella, writes his own reviews apparently. Hanging offence that.

Sigh, I guess that means 'writes my own reviews' is going to replace 'tweets a story from 5 years ago' as my 'goto pisstake'.
I did indeed write something which I don't mind spamming here because Tighty let me do it on the other thread:

I heard you tweet your own reviews from five years ago.

Football fans have and will always criticise manager's decisions. It's nothing new and it's part of being a supporter.
The only ones that really annoy me are those that take the huff if they're proved wrong. Had a clown that used to sit near me do on a very loud tirade at the manager bringing on a player he didn't like, said player scored almost as soon as he was on the park. So called supporter wouldn't celebrate, sitting with arms folded and sulking. He took a bit of a slagging for it though, moved seats the nest season as he got stick every time he started a rant from then on.....

I was at Molenieux a few years ago to watch the mighty lily whites get beaten 1-0 by the wolves. If you have ever been there as an away fan, you'll know you can end up sitting right by the pitch in the left back position.
A then-long-haired David Bentley was playing for us. He had the ball on the right and Younes Kaboul (RB that day) scooted round his outside, looking for a ball down the wing. Bentley tried a pass but it came out all wrong and the defender toed it out for a throw in.
No matter
Bentley took the throw in quickly and dropped it short, hearing the whistle as the ref called 'foul throw'.
He turned to the away fans, rolling his eyes and shrugging his shoulders with a "guess it's not my day, lads!" expression on his face.
A man right behind me - not twenty feet from Bentley - shouts at the top of his voice on this cold, wintry evening:
"GROW UP AND CUT YOUR HAIR, YOU F****** C***!"
There is generally doubt as to whether a player has heard a fan's comment. Here, there was none. He scurried back up the pitch in a less confident mood.
I was embarrassed for everyone involved, although it was a sign that the fans had had enough of seeing players stroll around and not give their all.

Can be very funny when players hear the shouts at them. Junior football up here in Scotland seems to demand a very thick skin, and that's usually from the player's own fans!!
My Dad played for Clyde, back in the old days when they shared their ground with the greyhound track at Shawfield. He was in the stand with my Mum watching the game injured and a guy a few rows in front had a big rant about 'get off and let the dugs on Copeland, ya useless bastard', Dad shouted down to him that his parents were married and he might be useless but at least he wasn't f***ing blind. Bigmouth got up and left to mocking laughter.
Some old pics to keep Tikay from getting tetchy about football stories on his diary

People in crowds are inevitably far braver than when face to face with their prey.
Maybe he ought to carry a gun.
