Yes, been volunteered & fetched.
Interesting book, too. The chap, Sam Isreal, ran a Hedge Fund, "Bayou". Got himself in a tinsy-winsy hole, & took the easy option, & covered it up by smudging the numbers. And the little hole just grew & grew.......
Pretty sure it was not an intended Ponzi thing, but it came to serious money. So he tried to find ways out of the mess, & then, in truth, I think he flipped his lid, as it all got a bit silly. Much of it happened in London.

So, back to the Meet with Rob.
Rob really takes a deep interest in blonde, you'd almost think he owned the bulk of the shares, he is always trying to help us find ways of revving up blonde, making it a better place. Some of his ideas are really left-field, but if we all thought the same, we'd all be the same.
So he came up with two really interesting ideas, & at least one will probably happen very soon, & will definitely increase Membership substantially, or I think it willl.
The other was really radical, & won't go down too well with many........fascinating thought process though.
I go hot & cold with blonde. It is not always what I want it to be, but it sparkles at times, & in places. Most of the Mods time recently has been spent grappling with problems deliberately caused by lapsed or disaffected Members or ex-Members though, & it really hacks me off. I don't want to be spending my precious time dealing with people being deliberately awkward, I really don't. Don't like the place? Fine, off you go, but why all the "afters" baffles me. Idle hands make mischief, I suppose.
But then I go on to Fred, & it cheers me up. That thread is exacty what I always wanted blonde to be. We all help each other, have a good laugh, & we make money. There are almost no difficult folks there, either, people use the thread to enjoy themselves, & we all make a little money along the way.
It's hard to believe, but on Fred we have wagered, in just shy of 2 years, nearly £90,000, & returned just over 5% net profit, every penny "proofed" in advance. Sample size is over 2,600 bets, so I'm pretty sure we are not just running good, thats a pretty big sample, especially as the average bet size is around £35.
Many people still don't get "value", & just post tips because they think a Team will win. I'd have been the same 2 years ago, to be fair, but what Fred has taught us is that betting has nothing to do with selecting winners, it is about finding value. Arsenal were big favourites to beat Villa on Monday, for example, but we almost bet the other way, because Arsenal were too short, & so Villa were value. It seems almost impossible to teach football fans this though. Which is why the bookies make so much money, of course.
The big sin in a betting thread is aftertiming & chirping, but it seems limited mainly to the youngsters, who just like to show what huge cocks they have. I guess we all did at that age.
Nothing is ever perfect, though, & gradually, one by one, the Bookies are closing my Accounts. Think I'm down to about 3 un-restricted accounts now. Guess it'll all have to end soon.
Time is the other problem, I could, literally - & sometimes do - spend 3 or 4 hours per day working the thread. But at least it is positive use of my time, & I enjoy it.
I'm rambling, so it's time to go I think.

If you want to get ahead, get a hat.
If you want to get a headache, get several hats.
I'm pretty sure Tom is losing the plot, incidentally, he sent me a text this morning.
"Hi Tone, remind me of the surnames of those 2 famous poker players, Jake ? & Toby?"
I just replied "Hellmuth" & he said "ahh yes, of course" & thanked me.
There's a plot?

You ever been to see the Redwoods in California? If not that is proper tree porn, think you should add it on to your vegas trip.2nd picture looks like giant sequioas, pretty sure the picture of the tree on its own is the lone cypress on 17 mile drive near Pebble beach golf course. Amazing part of the world.

Tony,
I just wanted to say what an absolute joy Fred is. I have only fairly recently found it, and have had so much fun and enjoyment from it, so thank you.

Thanks Nick.
I've been hooked on that site for several years now, typhoon (Trev Pearson) introduced me to it a while back.
I spend time at Heathrow with the site open, & I can see what is inbound & outbound, where from or to, the whole lot, what sort of 'plane it is. Proper porn, that.

I'd have at least got the front of that croc.......
Lovely photos, just lovely, thanks hector.
My TV viewing these days is 90% wildlife docs, never been such a good range of them. The wonders of nature are astonishing.
Hope all is well & zero-okta down there in Plymouth, & you are not missing Phoebe too much.
