In Brighton singles don't count post unless in multiples of £5, however amongst those of us who are regular cash players we never ask the other to put there last 5 10 15 20 whatever in singles into the pot if they have already jammed all the colour into the pot.
Those left with singles never try to play the shrapnel for the reasons previously stated.
I like it, it adds a bit of character to the game.

The photo has an EPT sign in it, but the description titled at the bottom says GUKPT
ept deauville 2006 77 v ak i believe!!!!
Correct. And wrong - I think.
It was Deauville EPT 2006. I think the hands were John Hewston - who'd had three Premiums consecutive hands - had Jacks, & Jen, on the money Bubble, but playing to win the thing, took him on with A-K, & missed.
John had a mountainous stack by then, but got done by Two Pair v Better Two Pair.
Sigh WRONG. John had QQ.
Obv i had a decent saver with Jen otherwise her AK spikes.

Wow, I found someone who likes it, although I think Karabiner does, too. Grown-ups, see?
And for Flushy, a prize. Give me 1 minute, you'll like this.

Pete Doherty got out of clink today, & judging by his "exit interview", plans to get straight back to his habit.
I gather he had a somewhat limited access to drugs on the inside - just not as much as he usually uses. The amazing thing, is he looked a 100 times better than when he went inside. (The dreadful picture of health below is himself pre-clink).
I really hope he gets his act together. He's walking a very thin line, & has had warning enough. I have no care for him, none at all, but I'd really love it if he somehow straightened himself up. I have a soft spot for all reformed rock stars who survive by getting off heavy drugs - Tyler, &, in particular, & Keidis in his saner "in-between" moments. I hope Doherty does the same, but somehow, I can't see it.

Usually leave it, if its one of the cash game regs, obv is pot is 100 and he has 25 i VB but none of the regs sit that short, if its 1k pot and he has 25 i leave it be.

I bumped into Hanna Nilsson last night at DTD, I first met her at APAT Luton, where she stole so many hearts, Compo's included. He did a 5 minute interview with her when we were doing Poker Week which lasted 2 hours. She asked me yesterday "how's the old perv?"
She also told me that, as of yesterday, when she resigned, she's no longer President of the Norwegian Poker Federation. She's been offered a role with an Online Cardroom - in Italy I think. Good luck to her.
There you go. blonde, first with the NNN - Norweigan Norkage News.
Damn - I hate that term "norkage", & now I've used it. So coarse.

I left home at 1.30pm today, & was 90 miles South down the M1, in Luton, by 3pm. When I realised I did not have my Lappie with me.
Shit - have I left it somewhere, I thought?
It has all sorts of stuff on it - contracts, documents, tax records, invoices, everything.
I thought back to my flight home from Scotland, & worked from there, eventually deducing I'd left it at home.
So, 90 miles North I headed, & it was at home, & I headed straight back South again, so that was 270 miles & some 5 hours on the M1.....
I worrried all the way home, was extremely relieved to find it, then got angry with myself for being so forgetful. Mixed emotions rule.
I'm totally convinced that my mental faculties are dwindling, especially my memory. I can remember the oddest of things, but some stuff just disappears somewhere.
I read - Bill Bryson ASHONE I think - which said that our body cells all replace themselves. Vigorously while we are growing, then the replacemnt rate plateaus, then slows to a crawl when we reach "maturity". At that stage, skin wrinkling starts to occur, & muscle wastage, which is why older folks shrink. Karabiner deffo used to be taller.
But the exception is the brain. We only get one bunch of Brain Cells (memory inclusive) in our entire life, & once they die, which they do, but very slowly, & later in life, that's it, there's no subs or replacements. I tried to look it up today in ASHONE, but I can't remember where I put the damn thing.

Read it - it's all in this quite wonderfully written tome. If I had a child who could only, ever, read one book, this'd be it. Thewy bought it for me, & it's the most wonderful pressie. I'm on my third copy, the previous two got a bit dog-eared.
Buy it. Read it. You'll never see life quite the same again.

To quote Cordes & Doherty (not Pete)
"Burnout is a psychological term for the experience of long-term exhaustion and diminished memory retention, usually in the work context. It is also used as an English slang term to mean exhaustion. Burnout is often construed as the result of a period of expending too much effort at work while having too little recovery"
In other word Mr Kendall -- please take a break and recharge -- you're worth it !!! your brain will thank you

I cursed my stupidity as I drove up & down the M1 three times today, but the silver lining was how frugal on juice my car is. Gotta find that silver lining, it's my parchute.
And then I started to hear about the devestation in Burma.
Consider some of the perverse perplexities in these news items today about the Burma tragedy.
22,000 dead, 42,000 missing. Rubbish, they don't know, & probably never will, but it's a lot.
UN Aid Missions cannot get into Burma, & have not tried, as the Junta won't issue any Permits to foreigners. Nonsense. If they just turned up,
en masse
, would they really be turned away? I think not. Once again, the World wrings it's hands, & the UN holds back, while tens of thousands die of disease & lack of potable water.
The British Government were criticised for their Emergency Aid Donation - £5 million. Their response? "We gave more than any other EU State". That's OK then.
I often wonder how, & indeed if, these "Aid Donations" ever hit the spot.
The EU itself provided £2 million in Aid. Marvellous.
The USA has Burma on it's sanctions list, but relented, & gave......$250,000. That's £126,000.
Compare today's coverage - 22,000 dead, 42,000 more missing, probably dead too, with the blanket coverage of the 9/11 atrocity, in which 3,000 died. Or Princess Di's death.
The World has gone mad.

I can't give a wry response to that - I'm touched by your thought. Thank you.
I plan to have the afternoon off on Tuesday though.
