The food debate, or "Meal Menu", is interesting.
I do it completely doo-lally. No brekkie, a sarnie midday, meal early evening, (when at work - we have a Canteen), then when I finish, usually about 1am, I go to the garage & pick up 2 sarnies, a snicker bar, & a Pot Noodle (to give my diet a healthy balance, Pot Noodles are full of nutrition, a bloke told me), alll of which I scoff down before I retire. I then spend half the night awake with severe indigestion, the cause of which is a complete mystery. And another thing I don't understand is why I've suddenly become so bloody obese. And I'm sleeping badly, too. Indigestion wakes me up every even hour, bladdreage requirements wake me up every odd hour.
I'm gonna go for Phil's method, starting tomorrow. Huge fried brekkie, nothing else. I need to do something, so that's the plan.
Sorted.

Eating a big breakfast is certainly the way to go - the only time I ever manage to do this is when I'm in Vegas and stuff myself in the morning. It means I just don't get hungry for the rest of the day.
That's my Vegas routine, too, Andrew.
When in Vegas, I eat a huge brekkie, & that's it, nothing else all day, except for 5 or 6 lattes. And I'm always full of energy in Vegas, & manage to work 18 hours a day without flagging, & sleep like a top. (Though I'm not sure how tops sleep).
Excellent question & idea from Phil.

I try not to eat after 8pm. I find by doing so I sleep like a baby. Eat late at night and I too sleep restlessly.
Of course what I eat before 8pm is the problem, but at least I sleep!

Weather Warning.
Storms, cluuds, gales, snow, hail, torrential rain, maybe even a little tempest or two. Likely to persist for a few days.
Outlook.
Bright & sunny, long spells of clear blue skies.

I always eat a good breakfast with plenty of sugars, carbs, proteins and saturated fats. Then I eat a good lunch, with plenty of sugars, carbs, proteins, and saturated fats. Then I eat a good tea, with plenty of sugars, carbs, proteins, and saturated fats. Then I eat a good Dinner, with plenty of sugars, carbs, proteins, and saturated fats. Then I eat a good Supper, with plenty of sugars, carbs, proteins, and saturated fats.
Try this with a few decent snacks to keep you going between meals and you'll be fine.

Wow, thanks Byron.
That's interesting, & scary. I tick a lot of those "Signs & Symptoms" boxes. And all my family, historically, developed diabetes late in life. (By "late in life", I mean just before they died).

Pop and see the quack. What you need is some good medical advice to ignore.

FYP - advice given and studiously ignored!
It's called breakfast because you are breaking a fast of normally 8 hours at least since last eating. Waking and then not breaking the fast means the body doesn't have any fuel and often you are playing catch up and messing about with your blood sugars.
Eating a large meal and then going to bed does not aid digestion. You have been told.

tikay, when are you going to sell that house that you never live in, buy a camper van and sod off and do your bucket list ??
Not trying to get rid of you or anything, it's just that I hope one day I am in a position to do just that ... don't waste the opportunity.

Blimey, good shout.
How long do I get to write it up ?
And if every one else does theirs, we could add another 100 pages to the old mans diary
