If I told you what I was doing in that room, I'd be mercilessly mocked.
If I told you who I was doing it with, you'd......
a) Be insanely jealous.
b) Not believe me.
Unbelievably & spookily, someone
in another country
somehow found out what was happening (NOT from me) & gave me a severe Text rub, which mystified me completely.

He's been practising....
I have no idea what you allude to.
I've been locked in a room most of the afternoon. And you'd never guess in a million years what I was doing in there.
It's just part my job.
Were you perfecting the squeeze technique coz you thought iit was a poker move?
Uncannily correct. A deck of cards & two young ladies were involved.

When I exited said "meeting", I was asked to ring one of the Big Suits in Hzarrogate.
I did so, & he said "are you OK Tony?".
"Err, my knee is playing up badly, but yes, I'm hunky dory thank you. Why do you ask?".
"Because I just saw on (website) that you died today of natural causes".
"Not to my knowledge" I replied.
WTF?
Anyway, someone had "Posted" of my (premature?) demise, but whoever spotted it - from google alert one imagines - then got it corrected, thus denying me the satisfaction of seeing my own passing reported.
The mind boggles.

that reminds me of something I was reading recently about obituaries that were already written up awaiting the passing of said notable figure, a few of which were accidentally prematurely published. It would be fascinating in a morbid kind of way to read something like that about oneself.
Anyway, glad to hear you're still alive, kicking, pokeriing and squeezing old man.

When I was about 16 I used to spend all afternoon in the local betting shop, one of the regular guys didnt come in for a few days and people started to worry about him. A couple of days later the lady behind the counter told us he had passed away. We were all a little shocked and at 16 I had no idea of how to deal with something like that. We felt bad and the word had got around in the local pubs that this guy had died. Then one Saturday afternoon we were all cheering on some nags when the door to the betting shop opend and in he walked, bronzed and looking great.
He had been to Spain for a fortnight.

Yeah, the BBC has a whole obits dept just to prepare these. A friend of mine was working in there the day Jill Dando got shot and it was a blind panic because they had nothing prepared.
The BBC had exactly the opposite problem when the Queen Mother died. They showed a programme which was a pre-prepared obit - lots of people who knew her talking about her in the past tense. The problem was that this programme had obviously been made sometime in the late 70s/very early 80s and I would imagine very many of the people interviewed in it would have gone before the Queen Mum did.

How do you know that? You a lurker there?
But it's true, I got a bit of a mauling over a peculair incident yesterday & today. Then someone started a thread "tikay is de man" sort of thing. At one stage, the two threads, one vilifying me, the other lionising me, were smack next to each other, & I was jumping between the two, alternately reading what a cock I had been, & what a legend I am. Then the trolls found the thread, groan, & it went off at a blonde-stylee tangent......
Oddly, the two leading protaganists - because it did kick off a bit! - were both well-known blondes. I think blonde must have exported their aggro-factor.
I enjoy this aggro-factor on Poker Forums less & less.
