Thanks for the heads up. I would have hated to have missed the end of this.

The BBC coverage of the Wimbledon tennis is incredibly good. Heaven knows what it must cost, including a fat fee to the AELTC, or whomever. But worth every penny, BBC can do these things as well as Sky Sports when they try. As to sport - or anything else, really - ITV are dead in the water.
Right now, there is the most incredible match in progress. The score is 2 sets each, & 41 games to 42! It is, apparently, the longest (top level?) tennis match in history.
They started yesterday afternoon, & are still playing now!
I think it is the longest tennis match in history, full stop. In terms of time on the court, the number of games played, the number of aces, etc.
Shame there has to be a loser in this. Not only that, the winner has to play his second-round match tomorrow! Tremendous conditioning from both of them though

Hey Tikay. How you been? haven't spoken to you for a while,
I saw a picture of you on Sky and couldn't believe how much weight you've lost
, you looked great -
really impressive discipline
mate something that
only a true nit could do
.
How are you feeling since you've lost it all?
And have you managed to quit smoking yet?
Also when are you arriving in Vegas and where will you be staying?
Sorry for the 21 questions but it has been a while!
Morning Mr Williams.
1) I've been tickity boo, thank you.
2) Remove "discipline", & insert "stubborn", & that's the secret.
3) Yes, I'm a nit, through & through, & proud of it!
4) I'm feeling fantastic, better than I have felt in 30 years I think, physically & mentally. Really, I have extraordinary reservoirs of energy now. Most of us - cerrtainly me - take our bodies for granted, but we only get one, & it behoves us to look after it. Which I only realised a little too late in life. Still, if it buys an extra year or two, that's a result. Which is meaningless if we are 20, or 30 or 40, but at my age, it hits you right between the eyes - "eeek, I need to do something NOW"!
5) I quit smoking when I get back home from Vegas. I'll attack it with the same obsession & stubborn-ness that I did with the weight-loss thing. I enjoy these self-denial processes - the winning of psychological battles, every hour, every day, being the "kick". It does the confidence & self-esteem no harm either, to do these thing without artificial aids or hokum pokum substitute crutches.
6) I arrive Vegas next Thursday. I'll be staying at The Rio. It's the only choice if working, & I really like it there. It's a little town, not a Hotel, & has everything I need.
Let's hook up, I'll have the Sky gang with me. Dan Brown & Ben Nuttall fly out today, the 5 VLV winners fly out 2 days after myself & Attila I think. Ben lost a few bob in that bit of bad business that went off here, but he'll learn from the experience, so it will be a cheap lesson in life for him, & he's not doing the "bittter" thing.
Now, a question for you.
How on
earth
did you let that donkey tilt you up at the Table earlier this week in the Rio?
Forget the Cardroom Manager, that player got the better of you by tilting you up. You are a far better player than that, but when you tilt - & I've never seen you tilt before - he's found a weakness. Show him who's boss by ignoring him, & just play your game. Right?
Are any more of the Swindon Massive out there? Gibbo?
Sparcey is locked in his room in Vegas. He got fed up with Live (WSOP) Poker, so went & purchased two 22" monitors & is playing high-stakes cash 18 hours a day in his room! He played the £1,000 pull-up BIG GAME on SP last Saturday, which we televised in almost real-time, & owned the table as usual, though the old-timer Jakally made a few bob too. Shock of the evening was Sparcey being bullied off a flopped set by Mo Muse, with his 2 pair. Who'd have though that was possible?!
See you next week fella, do please look me up if tiime permits. And dress properly, please, none of those numpty £25 M & S sweaters please, I wanna do some TV stuff with you, & I feel so embarrassed for you when you wear those dodgy sweaters.

Really full day yesterday, but I only give myself a score of 3 out of 10. Missed a lot of targets, & failed to do so much that I wanted/needed to.
We were in the Studio at 9am, & made 4 recorded Shows, 3 hours worth in total, & I think it gave me a bit of an adrenelin hangover, & I was a bit listless & jaded afterwards. A few hours on the Computer answering e-Mails followed, then I was sort of forced by circumstances to watch the England match, as they had a bit of an office party, food & stuff, so it was nigh impossible to work through it.
I started my Online poker stuff at 7pm, on Wednesdays there are two "tikay" badged Tourneys, so I had to rev myself up for those. I failed in both, one unluckily, one a really bad play by me. The field sizes were a little below my target, but the football & the weather jointly conspire against Online Poker. I logged off at about midnight, read my book for an hour, then slept like a log until 6am.
I'd been on 2+2 yesterday, I'd seen a SP related thread, so got all brave & Posted. Surprisingly, I got quite a nice reception. One of the respondents said "I'm a dealer at DTD, & dealt to you", (on 2+2!) another guy said he had not seen much liquidity on the Omaha 8 or better, (he was right) which was why he rarely played there. Lo & behold, whilst I was playing some low-stake Hi-Lo last night, the very same geezer joined the Table, & we chatted. He'd signed up just before, & we sat & played for an hour or so. He wanted to play some 25 50 tonight, but I'm working, so had to decline, but I promised him a game tomorrow, & I'll round up a few regulars.
Now, pardon that little tale, but that's pretty much a large part of my job over there & I was made up. I reacted on 2+2, got a sign up, & this is the key bit in Online Poker, made the "conversion" from sign-up to depositing & playing. The % who just sign up but never deposit or play (on ALL Online Rooms) is staggering, so conversion is the thing.
So, I marked myself 3 out of 10 yesterday, with all three points coming from that one little escapade. My performance otherwise for the day was bad bad bad.
Must do better today.

Running good.
Yesterday I did the TV work with this guy - Rich Orford. He's done the same diet trick as me, & has shed about 3 stones. I like him a lot, very much indeed, & I think he's exceptionally talented & gifted in front of a TV camera. Behind it, he's insecure & a fretter, & a top top bloke. He's having a torrid time in his personal life right now. (it's no secret, or I would not mention it). What began as an "amicable" divorce has turned ugly, & it's that thing when kids are involved, it becomes very awkward. He's lost just about everything, & in a way, as long as he retains access to the kids (which is not disputed or threatened) he'll be OK. But he's in a bad place, & now of all times he needs a friend, & a bit of tlc. I hope he'll emerge from it all mentally unscathed, it's so sad to see peeps going through life unhappily, it's such a waste.

Sorry to hear that. Only met him a handful of times, but he always has time for people and seems like a really genuine bloke. Hope it all works out well.
