Today's out-box contains some stuff I HAVE to do, but here I am, pissing about on my Diary, when I should be attacking stuff I'm required to do elsewhere.
Today's MUST DO List includes.....
1) Writing a Press Release, quite an important one too, getting it approved by HO, & sending it out to all the print & online poker Media.
2) Prepping for a private poker Tourney next Wedenesday, for 50 top execs of BSKYB. I have to get that one spot-on. It'd be a shoe-in if it were in a Casino, but it's in an Hotel, so I have to hire dealers, tables & so forth, & get it all set up. Then I have to prep a speech extolling the virtues of Online Poker as a business. The Execs well know that Online Poker is in decline, although SP's graph is still heading sharply north & even accelerating. But online gambling (as opposed to poker) is absolutely booming, especially "in-play" markets. Sky-Bet, a BSKYB subsidiary, is beautifully placed, too, with Sky Bet having an integrated platform & common wallet for Bet, Bingo, Poker, Slots, & OddsChecker. The cross-sell between that group of linked businesses is extraordinary. You cannot begin to imagine how much is wagered daily, for example, on Online Slots. Note that Sporting Bet reported yesterday, & Online Poker there took a tumble, but "betting" boomed.
3) Organise myself (not easy...) to get up to the Fox Club for 8pm tonight. Joe Beevers invited me, & I like Joe a lot, so I want to show my face. For me, poker in Central London does not work, as I refuse to drive into London, so trains are the only answer, or a pricey Hotel. Joe & I fell out - badly - over the Poker4Charity affair, which was one of the really upsetting things about the whole palaver. It took a few years before relations thawed, (neither of us would yield an inch) & now we are fine again. He's a good man, imo, a very good & straight man, & extremely successful - the way he's built THM up is extraordinary, & it must be worth an absolute fortune now. He's earned every penny, too.
4) Clear my e-Mail inbox. I get an average of 150 e-mails every day, + PM's on both sites, texts, da de da. Plus I've taken on some very exciting new work recently, (outside of SP), quite a lot of it too, & that's generating a bunch of work. So if I don't do e-Mail husbandry daily, the little pile soon becomes a mountain. I LOVE it, too, but I HATE not being on top of everything.
5) Sort out the Venue for a November Poker Tourney for the Variety Club. That one's a frigging nightmare.

So what's the difference between an injunction and a superinjunction?

Why not go back to the diet then? Is it that difficult to switch back?
It's all about state of mind. Once the mind "clicks", it's a piece of piss, dead easy, but the mind has to flick that switch first. I'm disappointed in myself that I never gave up smoking post Vegas, as I'd promised myself I would, & I have excuses, but that's all they are - excuses.
I'm quite sure my mind will "click" quite soon, & the Dieting - which I actually thoroughly enjoy, because the results are so rewarding - will commence. The problem now is that I am binge eating, for other, & complex reasons.

You'll have to ask a legal eagle. Or a Premiership Footballer. I think it's really just a term coined by the dumbschmuck red tops.

ADD to today's list.
Engage with the 2+2 boys, where an SP thread is running. I replied on it a few days ago, & fully expect to be ripped to shreds by the kidz. Hey-ho. One kid wrote "all the players there are absolutely hopeless" by way of a reason not to play there. You could not make it up!

Yeah, I guess that's why I can't picture myself giving up my diet and excersise regime for the foreseeable future (6 + months)..I just know that, if I were to give up now, I'd really struggle to get it going again.

I fell off the diet wagon when I went on holliday, and I've put on half a stone.
Thankfully, I kept up my exercise regime, or I would have been fatter than a peach orchard boar.

Whoops!
I just went to the Thread on 2+2, & my reply is gone - plus I got a PM from them telling me off for spamming. Fair play, I did say to their Mods - "take it off if it is not compliant". And they did.
"Dear tikay,
You have received a warning at Two Plus Two Poker Forums.
Reason:
-------

Warnings serve as a reminder to you of the forum's rules, which you are expected to understand and follow.

Which is fair enough, I guess. Fancy that, me causing aggro to Mods. I could yet be a degen, & get banned. Then I'd have to go on FB & slag them off, because if I got banned from a poker forum, it'd be the end of the world. Obv.

Surely not? The PM'd warning from 2+2 came from one "Bobo-Fett".....can't be him, surely?!
In fact, he's a regular at SP. Probz a different one.
But I did get some PM'd replies to my now disappeared Post.

My Post did say at the very end, to be fair.....
There you go, I hope the Post is 2+2 compliant, if not, my apologies to the Mods.
It also replied to a 3 page thread which asked questions about SP, so it seemed reasonable to answer. Maybe I went over the top with my heavily-spammed reply, I even included my Twitter addy.

It's an injunction that means the injunction's existence itself can't be mentioned, never mind the details of it.
It's something pretty much unique to the UK, and combined with other elements of our ridiculous libel laws means you get lots of 'libel tourists' using the UK to sue others and effectively restrict the freedom of speech here. You can even get someone who doesn't live or operate in the UK suing someone who doesn't live in the UK for something that wasn't even published in the UK.
