Staff Canteen - sorry, "Restaurant" - soup choice today was testing. "Curried Potato" or "Italian Sausage Minestrone".

Reluctantly chose the latter, which looked like piss with lumps in it. Very thin, watery stuff, not soup at all.

Followed that with the biggest plate of salad (betroot, tomato, lean ham, cheese) you ever saw.

I'm stuffed now, could not eat another thing.

I'l repeat that tonight, evening version, & be totally full again.

And I'll lose 1lb in weight on the day. Neat trick, this eating the right food.

I am determined to finsh at the office by 3pm today, so I can get some kip. Tonight, I'll be flat out, & stressed to death.

I'll be playing the 8.40pm Omaha Tourney as part of the blonde League. No prob.

But in parallel with that, it's my PTP night next door, so I'll be playing 4 NLHE Tourneys during the evening, all starting between 7pm & 9pm. So, 5 Tourneys at one, one of them Omaha.

I start at 7pm with the "tikay Sleepie", then the Main Event at 8pm, the "Take-on-tikay" at 8.30, & the TSP Classic at 9pm.

I really don't know how players can....

Play 8 or 10 Tables at the same time & still be able to enjoy the experience. "Enjoy" is the key word.

Get a feel for what other oppos on the Table are doing. Surely half of poker is gerting a feel for the oppos likely style & range?

All outwith my skillset & understanding, I'm afraid, but I'll give it my best shot tonight. There's a (PTP) obligation for me to be chatty on the Tables, too, & engage with the players.

I get paid for it, amazingly, me, paid to play poker, it is surreal, but I think I really earn my wages on nights like this, I really do find it tough.

Not sure how many blondes we can round up for an £11 Omaha jobbie, I think we ought to be conservative in our expectations.

We shall see.

During the last Omaha tourney you were at my starting table.  I intentionally kept quiet for the most part because I figured you might be up to yer eyeballs multi-tasking.  I'd get flustered with only 2 tables going and haven't a hope of chatting in that case.  Don't know how you do it, but just know you're not being ignored...only giving you space to get through all you have to do on the night.  Good luck tonight!

Turn the 'phone off? Hmm, yes, simple. But I'm addicted to my 'phone, & to the internet, as bad as bad can be. They control my life, 18/7, & I wish it were not so. But they do.

It's an addiction I am aware of, & am desperate to cure, but I'm not doing so good. I wish I could solve it as easily as I can lose weight. Or even put it back on.

Am I the only one so addicted to the internet, & mobile phones?

Xty years ago my phone use was restricted to red telephone boxes. Now I'm hooked. That's progress. Of sorts.

We used to have to use the phone in the laundrette on the corner....only then if we needed the police or an emergency taxi as no-one we knew had phones either...though we could ring Tim the talking telephone time for free )
