What an incredibly beautiful morning!
Spring has sprung, all of a sudden, the mornings are lighter earlier, the nights lighter later, clocks go forward shortly (I assume), the grass is growing, birds sing all night.
Was there ever a better time of year?
Was up at 5am, not slept so good, went for a walk & some fresh air, ended up watching the 'planes come & go at Heathrow.
Tried some brekkie, still can't eat, no appetite, & a job to keep it down. Felt worse after attempting brekkie.
Got today mapped out already, gotta have a plan.....
Was looking for a nice "Spring" picture, & googled "Springtime in England", & this was the first result. Bit left-field, but what a great photo.

Today's Plan A.....
1) Set up my PTP Evening. Need to think of an angle, to keep it fresh, make a bit of noise. Bit mentally flat at the mo, but something will pop into my head. Will be playing the two tikay Tourneys, (£11 @ 7pm, & £5.50 @ 8.30pm), the Main, & the TSP Classic, + a mates Birthday Freeroll.
2) Have a long session on 2+2. That "right to reply/spam" on 2+2 is not cheap, it costs a pretty penny, & it was me who said "let's go for it", so I want to see the cost justified. I think it will be, & if I take a few flesh wounds & a bit of sniper fire along the road, too bad. Was thinking about my "line" most of the night.
3) Reply to Andrew Titty, he raised a great question, though it's an awkward (= long) answer. I'm not very good at the brevity thing. I think I'm going to move the exchange with him across to the dedicated Sky Poker thread, not sure why, it just feels the right thing. I really want to keep my Diary, sort of, private rather than business. Which explains it awfully, but I know what I mean. I just think it'll kick off at some stage, (not with Tilty) & if it does, I'd rather it was not in or on my little island of peace & quiet. I feel very relaxed on this Diary, even the spammers, lurkers & haters seem to stay off it, & if I'm honest, I'd rather like it to stay that way.
4) Have a session on Sky Community, I set up a TSP Thread yesterday, & it's produced a very odd response, some good questions "on thread", but a whole multitude of even better questions by PM. Which of course is a much less time-efficient way of doing it, but so be it. SEVEN players PM'd me their questions! So that's 7 individual answers......
5) Set up the "Design a Tourney, Comp" Thread next door, this morning ideally. Might even do one here, too, with his Tight-Ness in charge.
6) Answer the overnight e-Mails, PM's, & FB Messages.
7) Knock off at THREE PM LATEST, & go grab some sleep. Will need some kip before tonight's 7pm PTP. Must try to be disciplined on this one.
8) Got four very "hot" e-Mails to write. They ain't gonna like me very much when they get them.......join the queue, boys.
9) Catch up on some personal stuff, jeez, I'm so behind.
10) An hour on blonde later.
The rest of the day is all mine.
My only day off this week is Friday, & I need to go home & continue with sorting out the bloody mess, so I'll drive up after the Show on Thursday, at Midnight, spend the day at home, then head back South on Saturday, maybe even via Luton on Friday night.

Incidentally, the problem of what you describe as the "ensconsed, not so good regs" has already reared it's head in the most intresting manner. That was last week's jaw-dropper. More exciting than an Archers episode, this number.
More info on the jaw dropper plz

Liz Taylor died today, who she was was the subject of a bit of televised banter between Tikay, James Cardigan and myself last week, quite poignant dont ya think TK? I hope the repeats of that show have finished because otherwise we will look quite tasteless today.

Good Spot, Barry, & yes, most poignant. I have made the enquiry already.
Luckily I was on message, it was the pesky Expert Guest who asked "so, who is Elizabeth Taylor?".
As you say, bad timing. There was a fair bit of less than complimentary Liz Taylor banter on this week's blonde RSQ, too, but the thing is, none of it was malicious, as I recall, just ignorance of her standing in the Entertainment Industry. I don't know how these things can be measured, but it's up there with Michael Jackson in the wow department. To some, anyway.
Over many decades, she was THE headline star, her series of marriages were deemed scandalous back in the day, 8 marriages to seven blokes. I can almost recall them, Richard Burton, famously, Eddie somebody, Conrad Hilton, Mike Todd.
"Cleopatra" was, I think, her biggest film, in the fifties or sixties, maybe. May even have been in colour, or even technicolor, I don't recall. I do recall my sister forcing me to go watch it at the local Gaumont. Ugh.

Something I think you'll enjoy:

On that note I recently saw a photo of the capsule Gagarin went round the Earth in - I had no idea that it was so small!

Thanks Paul, quality stuff that. I was a teenager when Yuri Gagarin went up, & impressionable, as youngsters are, but even then, space flight left me cold, & disinterested, & it remains the case now, I'm afraid. Just one of my (many) blind spots I guess.
I've never raised an eyebrow at a single space flight, Space Shuttle, moon landing, none of it. That's not to say it's not hugely impressive, it surely is, but it just does not float my boat at all. I'm still working on the wonders nearer home, the design & construction of, say, the London Underground, the London Sewer System, the Motorway Network, how the internet grew so fast & changed so much, & as for travel, I yearn for peace & solitude in the West Highlands of Scotland more than I do the lights & noise of Vegas.
All very odd really.
Even so, a quality find, thank you.

Glory be, I'm struggling to recall a better renewal of the Chelteham Gold Cup than we had today. Great story, great drama, & the front three never flinched. Wonderful to watch.
NH racing at it's very very best.
I don't think I've enjoyed a Cheltenham Festival more than this one. There were some brilliant performances and the sight of Denman & Kauto Star kicking on turning for home with the much younger (and much hyped) Long Run breathing down their necks was magnificent.
On Racing UK, it's the week that we look forward to the most and the whole crew & presenters work their socks off putting together a show that, hopefully, the viewers enjoy.
This is a bit self indulgent but I hope you don't mind taking a look at our "closer" for the 4 days.

Cleared a goodly amount of today's to-do List, good effort really, but had to give best & go to bed at about 4pm, still feel shite. Set the alarm to do PTP tonight at 7pm, & was out of the first Tourney, the Deepstack, by 7.20pm.
Another early night might do the trick, but 4 more Tourneys to play first.
Very sad to hear of Liz Taylor's passing. Think she had "gone" a few months ago, & in a way, a quick passing is sometimes better than hanging on minus half your faculties. Out with a bang, boof, gone, gotta be best for everyone, & I hope that's my route. Not yet, though.
Had a good session on 2+2 today, but have fallen behind on organising the players for the Studio-Based Live Cash Game we are setting up. My only task was to round up the players, & I've had weeks & weeks to sort it, so not too pleased with myself on that. I have 7 or 8 lined up, good balance, too, but I need 10 or 12, then there are Contracts to sort, & all that stuff. Sod's Law says once I've selected the 12, 3 or 4 more will be on the dog, "what about me?". I know exactly who I want, just a problem getting round to setting it up, & chatting with them, with so much else going on right now. Sacked I may be, but redundant, no way.

Thanks Steve, great stuff.
I asgree as to Cheltenham this year, & in the Gold Cup, watching those three turn for home was as great a sight as I can recall seeing on a racecourse since Eddery & Mercer on Grundy (Great Nephew/Word from Lundy - how sad I know that still!), & Bustino, back in, I think, '76?
Terrific Fessie, & well done on the TV stuff. I never had a bet, either.
I gather the way forward - officially - for the Fessie is to stick to 4 days, but go to 7 Races per day. For now, stick to Tues-Fri, but I'd bet diamonds that at some stage, the Bookies will bring pressure to bear to have the Final Day on the Saturday. It'd be a MONSTA bookies day that, almost another Grand National bonanza. It'll happen, 100%.
Does Royal Ascot still become "Ascot Heath" on the Saturday? I used to think they were different tracks! I had the good fortune to "walk" Ascot a few weeks back. Some place, you can smell the atmo, & that Grandstand is something else.
Good to hear from you Steve, do keep in touch, bud.
Where/when is your next racing gig?
