Cliffs on this, anyone?
Bobby Gould up front for Arsenal
Jim Montgomery in goal for Sunderland at Roker Park? Not sure
History is made, Tighty gets a football question spectacularly wrong.
Looks very much like Booby Gould? Possibly Sprake as the keeper? The punch would be more in character then...
Winner. Sprake (Dirty Leeds) v Gould (Boring Arsenal), 1970's style.
I think Gould played for 10 different Teams in quite a successful career, but managed 11 Teams spectacularly badly. Hiis youngest lad is Chief Executive of Surrey County Cricket Club, which will interest nobody, but fascinate the disgraced Tighty.

One of THE great world records, Bob Beaman, 1968, setting a mark that was not to be beaten for
23
years.
Mike Powell 1991 World Championships. I really wanted to let it go, but the pedant in me wouldn't, sigh.

Well all the more impressive, then.
God bless pedants.

There is another FB site where a guy from around the area I grew up is encouranging to send him pictures of days gone by from the area. I sent him a couple of school pics recently received from one of my aunties that I didn't even know had existed (the photo not the aunty.) I have already been contacted by 5 of those from the pic that I had never been in contact with since finishing primary in 1973.
Geo
Nobody else thought top row, third from the right ?
Aye, that was my pick too - sorry Geo.
Really Rod?
My moneys on bottom left sitting down gurning.
Aye, was a height thing partly I think - and the grin (pretty everpresent when I've seen Geo).
From the clue about within grabbing/skelping distance from the Head, I'll now say middle row, far left beside the Head.
That's me Rod, I was a real wee huffy sod back then (some say that hasn't changed.)
I kept my issue suitcase (no longer on issue to soldiers) when I left the Army. It is brim full of photos. I admit I was one of those who collected many pics over the years and didn't bother to arrange them in albums.
I keep telling myself I need to sort them out and upload them into my photobucket album at least. May take a week or so off soon and put that right.
Geo
If you do have a look at the photobooks, you download the software, put your pics & captions/titles in, create a book & they print it & send it to you. My old dear does one with pics through the year (mostly of the Grandkids now) and has also done a recipe book for my sister & a book of my Dad's football newspaper cuttings etc - which were getting into a bad way, all nicely scanned in and printed now.

I want a hat like this. How neat does that look? A little too raffish maybe?
One of those guys I'd just absolutely LOVE to go for a few pints (cocktails) with, would be phenomenal company I'd imagine.
Him and Paul Merton on HIGNFY are just fantastic. Paul Merton is another one who'd be hilarious company for a few Pear and Apple Martini's
Tikay you're on my list of top 10 people to go for a chamomile tea with!

Tyson is his heyday was an animal, but was terrific to watch, so exciting, & aggressive, so beautifully & powerfully built. He could bite, too.

Went to watch a live taping recently and Hislop was constantly bantering with the audience, guests and the host. Really entertaining and sharp witted. Paul Merton said almost nothing for an hour. Every single thing he said made the edit (the producers know what the public like), but the vast majority of the time he sat very still and silent not even laughing at anyone else's jokes. Bad day maybe. Not exactly a big sample size.

You asked my opinion of Joey Barton.
I've tried to like him and give him another chance, I really have.
But after today's attack on Neil Warnock (the man who bought him and made him captain) on twitter, I give up.
He is a selfish, childish, ignorant dick and I would rather get relegated than see him wearing the same kit as Rodney Marsh, Roy Wegerle, Stan Bowles, John Byrne, Sir Les Ferdinand and Simon Stainrod.
GTFO Barton

Wish you'd stop sitting on the fence. So you like him then?

Couldn't agree more. Barton once made a very good comment regarding the players for the England team who under performed at the world cup then snap released their 'World Cup Diary' stuff for print. Sadly the popularity this opinion found went straight to his head and he is under the false assumption that everyone cares about every thought which goes through his head, as well as an image of the 'bad boy' to maintain. Reading Camel's post combined with the fine Sporting pictures here reminded me of my favourite Sports Picture ever (it hung above my bed for a good decade or so).
When a bully met a real hard man and gentleman of the game, he kind of crapped himself.

I'm the same with Christmas, it hacks me off, all this ritualised pressie giving, & I refuse to do it - I like to give pressies when least expected. This year was bad, I received a load of gifts, dozens, & I gave exactly one.
Thanks once again, I loved it.
