'I recognized he was not a good man, not at all, he was horrible'
I'm aware of some of John's shortcomings but your statement suggestd something more. would you elaborate when you have time?

I was surprised you have a Beatles thing - you seem too young. They "broke" when I was in my teens.

no way you are getting that thru - not even in a giant wall of text
Oi, behave. "Early teens", that OK? They began in 1960.

Ah cunning use of linguistics to create a 20 year time span - very clever, you must get used to doing that at your age!
using "broke" as started, when it could equally have meant split up, and the obvious "teens"
gonna have to keep my eye on you!

On tonight's Show on 865, a pretty interesting line-up. (No, not me, I'm not on tonight).
Paul Jackson & Karl Mahrenholz are the guests, but as it is also on Sky Sports from 10pm, it has to finish sharp at Midnight, so there will not be an Encore.
The Presenter is James Hartigan, who is a film buff, but otherwise quite interesting, with a dry sense of humour.
The Presenters put up a "Show Thread" for each show on the Sky Poker Forum (they get paid extra, make them work for it, I say), & James excelled this time.
He Posted this photo, & added "Not to scale". Excellent!
This one IS to scale. Gotta love those boxes.

Ahh, I'm sorry, inadvertent misuse of "broke".
Its kids speak, for when the band first became known. Get with it, Guy.

This was John's Roller. The establishment hated him - HATED him - for this, it broke all the rules. Rolls Royces are meant to be black, regal, pompous.
John just put two fingers up to the world, effectively said "in yer eye".
No idea if the car still exists, but it would be worth a small fortune if it were.

The Roller is in a museum in Canada of all places. Not sure how it ended up there.

Will do, Tom. I need to work through some earlier questions first, & Post some fresh stuff that is buzzing round my head. I never know whether to start from the top of the pile, or the bottom, but it does seem rude not to respond to questions, or thank people.

This one can jump the queue, because thanks to that info, I have found an incredible history of the car.
I doubt ANYONE could guess the story of the car, who bought it & why, or the highest price paid for it.
WARNING - seriously geeky stuff this, but I know a few of you will enjoy it, & Tom especially, too - with reference in there to "Dutch Gypsy artists".
It even has the phone number of the in-car phone - Weybridge 46676. Those were the days, proper mobile phone numbers.

Well if you wrote that, Jeff, you should pack up poker & go back to journalism, it was a beautifully balanced & paced little piece, well presented, very professional, & I mean that. The gift of writing well should not be underestimated.
Anyone suggesting Jeff should give up poker and return to journalism must think he either a) really loves journalism or b) really hates money

I seem to remember Praz was not too impressed about that photo getting out. It was from the snapper's own blog I think.

We mentioned footballing cliches the other day, & one of them is the player who has taken a handbag style slap to the face, or hurt his arm, they immediately fall to the floor. Why? Why does laying down make it hurt less? It's not their bloody leg!
Here is the same theme, with a difference - now the Linesmen are joining the charade. No wonder players get away with it.
Note how, despite his severe head wound, he manages to stagger, dramatically, & theatrically, halfway to the middle of the pitch (so more can watch his agony) before collapsing & dying. Nearly.
The mortally wounded chap is far right, as the video commences. He actually falls to the ground on the touchline, gets up, & staggers to midfield before collapsing again.

The new 'Stars App has been received with more enthusiasm, & barely a dissenter, than any poker product since Online Poker begun, the sole exception being "Rush Poker", which was received with just as much unbridled glee.
Rightly too, it is a really polished piece of kit.
Next up for the mighty & magnificent 'Stars is their version of "Rush Poker". Talk about crush the opposition.
With the exception of that huge dark DOJ cloud hanging menacingly above them, they must be loving life, they have by far the majority of the market already, & will now squeeze the networks even harder.
It really is a clear blue sky for them.

Just goes to prove the old adage that it's execution and not ideas that wins in business. Stars just do everything really well. Safe to say the competition isn't exactly testing them of late though. Quite the opposite of when Party was Stars (if you get my drift) and Stars were snapping at their heels finding new ways to stand out by focusing on tournaments.

Your old mates Ladbrokes said this in their results this morning.
'Whilst poker has to date not been a strategic area of focus, we will be working increasingly to address performance throughout 2012.'
