Yesterday's HORSE event,

Loved it, really enjoyable, but I done most of my stack in one hand of RAZZ, when I had a 65 (yay @ the lingo), & Villain had the wheel. Seems to me that a 65 in Razz is similar to KK v AA pre flop in NLHE, hard to pass.

Loved the lingo, too, "bring-in", "complete", "cap it", 97's & 96's, we even had a "ninety seven 6" v a "ninety seven 5". Like all that!

"Limit" did my head in though, the maths were a bit beyond me. You reach the final bet in whatever game with 2nd nut/3rd nut, & you are getting 16/1 to call 100 knowing full well you need to be very lucky to get either........

I got confused as to what I could bet on each street, too, & how much I could raise.

Some of the players picked up on this, & there were a few rolled eyes & smartarse comments. One guy was monsta sarcastic about my obvious inexperience with Limit betting protocol, & repeatedly took the piss. Later he bemoaned the lack of players in these Events, saying "more people should play these events, they are great to play". The sheer stupidity & naivety of many poker players astounds me. Do they not have a mirror at home, or are their dumb heads stuck so far up their farking arses that they do not relise how stupid their comments are?

That apart, really loved it, the sheer variety of skills needed was really challenging & enjoyable.

Golden Nugget continues to impress, I wish I had discovered it earlier. Dealing HORSE is not easy, not at all, but they were mostly slick, fast, & very efficient. They have a lot of stuff to handle in HORSE, with all the different intracies of each game, some with a high card bring in, others with a low bring in, da de da. Keeping track of when the game changes, given that Dealers were rotating "within" games, was also quite a challenge for them. Very impressed.

Anyway, to put it another way, "cliffs" style, we blew $230. Think I finished about 70th of 135, not sure. "Always mid-division, soon faded".

I was incredibly fatigued yesterday though, after 6 hours sleep in 48.

Went back to the room (with 2 wonderful sticky fresh cream buns), to watch the NBA Finals & snap fell asleep on the bed. Woke up @ 4am, the sticky buns had melted.

Wow, those lads in NBA are big guys, VERY fit too. I started to see the various personalities last night, really enjoyable, the game is vey very fast, too. Durant, Westbrook, James, wow, what great guys. Heat absolutely crushed Thunder.

I've never seen Stud hi lo played anything OTHER than limit in Vegas.

If that is the case, I'll have to swerve it Keith, thanks for the reply.

So we have two x 4pm Events to choose from, both PLO, $200 @ Caesars & $600 @ Venetian.

I've not played at Caesars yet this trip, so that appeals I guess. The Venetian one might get a pretty big field (& thus prizepool) though.

Bloody decisions all the time, even in poker heaven.

Ditherage & bimbling in full flow.

Morning Alex.

You enjoying Vegas so far?

I'm based at the Rio, and am always in the WSOP Media Centre (which is deserted, I'm completely alone, yay), from around 5am until 11am, then I go off & play somewhere. We must meet up at some stage, be good to see you.

Where & what are you playing today?

I was supposed to meet LilDave for Brekkie on Wednesday, but comms problems meant we missed each other, I've not heard from him since, hope he's OK.

haha, he's OK! Video's on pokernews.com of him being in the middle of an incredibly rowdy British rail last night! Although he reports on facebook that he got kicked out lol.

I'm in the Rio today for the 3k which starts at noon. Probably have to get there early to reg up. So maybe see you there.

Bumped into Neil Channing in the Rio Corridor yesterday, he invited me for dinner, but I was feeling shit, & fatigued, so I had to swerve the invite.

We chatted about the changes on i-poker at some length though.

He & I met some months ago in my office, & we discussed it in depth at the time, & it's pretty much what he had expected. Neil is bright, sharp as a tack, & he has explored all his options, & I think he knows what route he will go.

I hope he, & all my other friends in i-poker, get sorted. It can't be easy for them, & i-Poker are not exactly good at caring.

I struggle to view i-Poker dispassionately, of course, I'll never ever forgive them for the absolutely disgraceful way they treated blonde, stealing - yes, that's the correct word - our players money. A third party dispute between blonde & an i-Poker skin should NOT result in players having their deposits stolen, full top.  A guy deposits $10k, turns it into $50k inside a month, & is then told his account is frozen & he cannot have, or access, the cash, as there is a third party dispute with blonde? Do me a favour.

Ooh, come see me if you get time, please!

The Media Centre is at the very end of the Rio Corridor.

Back in April, the rumoured takeover of Full Tilt by 'Stars was nailed on, & imminent. I assumed it was 'Stars way of getting off the DOJ charges.

It is now late June, not heard a thing.

What happened?

glad you are loving the nugget TK.  Besides 2 days at the rio played everyday there for 2 weeks till i came home saturday.   Got a couple of cashes and found the cash games there really soft!!!   I am taking a bit of the credit for Danny Newmans return to poker.  We work together away from poker and last year when I decided to go to the wsop and cross off the number 1 position on my bucket list Danny decided to fly out with me for a holiday.   Although he didnt play much he bumped into a number of old friends and got a bit of the buzz back

This year he decided to go out for 5 weeks and take it a bit more seriously.  (business meant I could only go for the first 2 weeks).

One of the best plo players I know and can still compete with all these interwebby players.
