Stop it!
I thought you had to be super-tall to be a Policeman?
Has that all changed, for some sort of size-discrimination thing? That'd be called

You don't get photos like that on Vagueness & the Pervamath. All leering at tits bums over there these days.
Given a choice, what would you prefer?
Case rested.

I'm not sure that is due to discrimination laws though as I thought it was just race, religion, sex, sexuality, age and disability you couldn't discriminate against. Surely if there is a valid reason for a height requirement you should be able to discriminate?

I was just joking as to discrimination, but it was always the case that Policemen had to be of a minimum height. Guess it must have changed. Anyway, it is good news for me, I can apply now.
Same sort of rules applied to Firemen, which, if I recall correctly, used to discriminate against female applicants.

That's all long gone now, tho.

police def used to be min 5ft 9 or 8. Think firemen used to be a min chest size so not sure how that discriminated against women <ooh matron>

What a fantastic book "The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy" is.
Somebody gave me a copy when I was living in Marbella in 1980, it was the first time I had seen or heard of it as I wasn't aware of the radio show in the UK. I must have read it almost from cover to cover in a couple of days incurring some very strange looks as I burst out laughing at regular intervals while sitting reading in various bars.

I believe that traffic cops have a basic entry requirement that their feet can touch the pedals.

Quite by chance, I saw a reference to this next door, & I looked it up.
It is by Percy Shelley, who, I now learn, had THE most eventful, but tragically short, life.
The Cloud
I bring fresh showers for the thirsting flowers,
From the seas and the streams;
I bear light shade for the leaves when laid
In their noonday dreams.
From my wings are shaken the dews that waken
The sweet birds every one,
When rocked to rest on their mother's chest,
As she dances about the sun,
I wield the flail of the lashing hail,
And whiten the green plains under;
And then again I dissolve it in rain,
And laugh as I pass in thunder.
It is by Percy Shelley, who, I learn, had THE most eventful, but tragically short, life.

Pretty good that, eh?
