Was unsure whether to post this here or on that other diary, but the fact that there are Aeroplanes pictured swung it your way.
Sitting and relaxing on a beach is probably not your cup of tea but i thought you might appreciate the beauty of some of these.

Thanks Boo, some magnificent sites & sights there.
I've been to that "green" sand beach in Hawaii, in real life is is not really as green as it looks in the photograph, or not as my memory recalls it.
The French one, with the cattle on the beach, reminded me of The Gambia, where cattle are always on the beach. It just seems, for some reason, incongrous.
That "Ocean Dome" in Japan looks like hell on earth. No thank you.
My favourite was that sort of cove, in Spain,
Playa de Gulpiyuri
, which does look inviting.
Beach holidays used to be my thing, but I'd not ever go on one these days. Life moves on & all that.
I'm at the dither stage of returning to that Loch-side Cottage in Ratagan, near the Isle of Skye, for a week in October, where I stayed 18 months ago for Christmas. That was my best holiday ever ever ever, the scenery & tranquility up there is unbelievable.
Hope Family Boo are all well, & in good heart. Sorry to hear about Liverpool FC's continued demise.
PS - You chose the right Diary. Undoubtedly.
A few of those beaches I'd like to see, I've seen the ones in Bermuda, where there is also a glass beach, a lot smaller with less glass, but still enough to notice - it's on St George's island Boo - along from the Hotel beach and Fort St Catherines.

My shots were far too poor to be recorded
haha I have a couple of videos that I can post but need to edit the swearing out first
POST THEM!
Ask and ye shall receive
obviously I would not want to hinder my good friend's name for future golf matches but considering Essex has been devoid of rain for ages and in light of the fact that "picking and placing" on the fairway should at least be on hole we are playing this is pretty poor form

Just thinking about that cottage makes me yearn to return. That's it, I will.
The Loch is sits by is Loch Duich, just a few miles from Eilean Donan Castle.

I never knew about the glass beach Rod , hopefully i will get to return to the island someday and i will check it out.

Is there a technical reason Mr.Shallow has a follow through that involves pointing the club angrily in the direction of the swing? High Stakes Golf please!

To be fair, Bubba Watson won the Masters and he has a swing that looks like he's trying to throw a hammer.

About this book you're writing tikay.
I hope you have a backup, and a backup-backup, and a few other backups stored away just in case.
I know of many computer disaster stories where people have lost books, complete photo collections of their children growing up, you name it people have lost it.
And make sure you store backups in multiple locations, email a copy to yourself on Hotmail, GMail, Sky, have a copy on a USB memory stick, etc etc.

I know you're not really into space stuff and we're busy playing a PLO8 SnG right now but tonight at 21:24 (for 6 minutes) and at 23:00 (for 4 minutes) the International Space Station will fly overhead at 17,000 MPH.
It's well worth going outside and looking up if you've never seen it before.
It's pretty hard to miss on a clear night as it'll be the really bright thing going from West to East (quickly).

Saw it.
Surprised that it didn't go straight across the sky but rather with a 45 degree bend. Like it came in at 3 O'clock and went out at 11.

That's due to the circular (ish) nature of its orbit, Tom. I'm only guessing now, but a little bit of it might be due to the earth rotating underneath it too, so to speak.
Did you watch it to its denouement? Did you see how it dimmed from bright white down to orange then red before finally disappearing? That's because it was passing from the day-lit side of the earth into the earth's shadow. The reddening is due to dust in the atmosphere - think red sky at night.
You can only see it during the hours around dusk or dawn because in daylight its hidden in the glare of the sun and in the middle of the night its already in the earth's shadow when it passes over us.
You can see when it's going to be visible here -
http://www.heavens-above.com/PassSummary.aspx?satid=25544&Session=kebgfbefappbjklhepfopobi
. To make it as accurate as possible you'd need to register and enter accurate latitude & longitude for your own position.

Yes I did, and I guessed that that was why it went from bright white to dim red and then disappeared.

What was the internet like in the middle of nowhere? (think it would be a struggle to enjoy paradise with no internet).
