I'll tell you what, you watch the first half hour of episode one and I'll give you the answer to a problem you can't solve.

Tikay, This isn't normally the type of thing I would enjoy but if Tom says that he doesn't normally enjoy fiction but seriously envies anyone who hasn't seen it then I feel it would be a mistake not to try even one episode.
Or is this an in joke between the two of you that I have missed ?

Nah, Tikay doesn't do fiction.
He also doesn't do what he doesn't do, like ever under any circumstances.

Have posted this picture this morning on Chess Thread, but thought this might be fun here:
On the left is former World Chess Champion, Vishwanathan Anand, so no points for that. Who's the chap on the right?
He is a singer of some 89 years of age. Armenian but not known by his Armenian name.

Lyrics like these don't come along too often either.
She may be the face I can't forget
A trace of pleasure or regret
May be my treasure or the price
I have to pay
She may be the song that summer sings
May be the chill that autumn brings
May be a hundred different things
Within the measure of a day
She may be the beauty or the beast
May be the famine or the feast
May turn each day into a heaven
Or a hell
She may be the mirror of my dream
A smile reflected in a stream
She may not be what she may seem
Inside her shell
She who always seems so happy in a crowd
Whose eyes can be so private and so proud
No-one's allowed to see them
When they cry
She maybe the love that cannot hope to last
May come to me from shadows of the past
That I'll remember 'til
The day I die
She may be the reason I survive
The why and wherefore I'm alive
The one I'll care for through the
Rough and rainy years
Me I'll take her laughter and her tears
And make them all my souvenirs
For where she goes I've got to be
The meaning of my life is she.

I don't recall anyone mentioning BBC 2's series Britain's First Photo Album: John Sergeant retraces the steps of Victorian photographer Francis Frith who attempted to document every city, town and village in Britain. Goes around all the historical landmarks and sees how they have changed over the years etc. Right up your street and pretty good viewing.
Latest one can be caught here:

Sure the older ones can be viewed somehow.

Hi Tikay, I'm over in Oberursel in Germany this week working in the Rolls Royce facility.
It's a cracking building build over 120 years ago.
The interior of the main office building is all marble and dark oak. Really makes you feel like you're in an early WW 2 film.
Fascinating factoid:
This fellow used to come and hand pick his engines.

There's a museum on site which is only open on the first Friday of the month so hopefully will get to have a look before I leave on the evening. Will try and take some pics to share.

I wouldn't count on it. Tony puts the dire in diary.

I'll catch up on the replies shortly guys, thank you for the Posts, life is so full at the moment, I don't have time to think.
I'm doing a little poker challenge next door, so playing a lot of Online Poker, it's a great escape for me, away rom hassle, aggro & stressy stuff. When I'm playing poker, all my cares ills & woes seem to disappear for a few hours. It's a great game.
Anyway, excuse the laziness, but I Posted this next door today, so I may as well repeat it.....
No Online poker tonight, am off to The Vic, (Tube strike permitting) to play the GUKPT Omaha jobbie. Tremendously excited, I've not played Live poker in months, can't even remember when it was, so long ago, & I don't think I've played Omaha in Live Poker since Vegas last year. I'm like a kid on Xmas Eve, counting down the hours!
It's £165 Single Re-Entry, so I expect that'll be £330 down the swanee, but I'm so looking forward to playing, & catching up with so many pals. Think I'm having dinner with Jeff Kimber & a few other pals first, & of course I'll be UKPC recruiting non-stop. Simon Plumper is playing, too.
I really can't tell you how excited I am, daft for someone my age really. I'll actually be so nervous tonight my hands will shake, they often do when I return to Live poker after a break, & folks will make cruel age-related jibes, not realising how deep they cut. Too bad, we all get old eventually, but I'll enjoy it once I settle down. Sometimes, age-related jibes are just folks being nice, in a weird way, almost - almost - respectful, I suspect.
I played 3 WSOP PLO8 Events, & in every one, I was SO nervous for the first hour or two, but eventually I settled down.
Tonight is PLO, not PLO8, & I'm far weaker at PLO, but I've had a dozen or more Festival Cashes down the years, so I'm not a complete buffoon at the game. Just need a bit of run-good, eh?
I'll prepare my excuses in readiness. Nothing like planning ahead, eh?
I think playing (2,000?) PLO8 DYM's in the last few months has helped me improve my game a bit, but PLO8 & DYM's are not muchly similar to a PLO Tourney. We shall see.
Excited!
