That's misleading though, as Matt Bates is less than 3' tall.

Just wanted to recommend a wildlife programme called Inside the animal mind on BBC iPlayer, I happened to catch the last ten mins or so of the third part of this series which contains some very moving scenes of elephants and dolphin behaviour. Well worth a watch even if you don't have time for the whole programme.

Strayed on here as I just had a read through the Telegraph's story on the Ladbrokes results, what's your thoughts tikay? Any link to the raw results? How's their online poker doing?

Find the diary full of basketball! The first pic is Manute Bol with Muggsy Bogues, who was 5 foot 3. Nate Robinson is the guy dunking over people, he's 5'9 or 10, a veritable giant!

Poker: £7.5m revenue down 31% year-on-year. In 2006 it was over £40m.

An absolute horror show of a year online. They are a few years behind everyone else, but amazingly they aren't dead. They still have a ridiculously strong brand in terms of recognition and trust. Every survey you see bears this out.

Tourney report would be good too, if you can still remember it. No rush.

It defies belief. Every year, year after year, it (Poker margin) declines between 20% & 30%. For 7 straight years.

In 2007, Poker was 22% of Ladbrokes Online Gaming revenue. Last year? 4.9%.

In truth, Poker is now just an unwanted distraction to Ladbrokes for what is still a very large business. Hard to fathom why they would wish to persevere with poker, it just means Management resource is being wasted on what is, to Ladbrokes, a dead Product.

Online Poker is in decline, but nothing of that magnitude.

I crushed.

That do?

Proper report to follow, I'm a little unwell at the mo, & suffering adrenelin hangover from UKPC. Safe to say, never had so much fun as I did in that Omaha. I rarely play "live" these days - that was only my 2nd outing since Vegas last year - & I loved every single moment.

Briefly, for now....(God help you if I ever do a full Report, lol)

I actually think I played pretty good - as good as I'm able, anyway - but the key thing was my hands seemed to hold up more than I could normally expect.

I had a long battle with Ben Vinson, who was very aggro, but for once, instead of thinking I just want to "hang around" & make the money, I was keen to try & go very deep, even if it meant an early bust out.

Ben knows I am weak/passive, & tried to exploit it early, when I button-raised into his BB on our opening table. He re-potted, & I instantly re-shipped, & got him to fold.

In the Final, he was squeezing young Alex a lot, as he knew Alex was opening light. Blessed with the perfect seat 3 handed, I was able to re-squeeze Ben. I did a banzai re-shove in this scenario with A-K-x-x (x-x were bad....) & to my horror, Ben looked me up with A-Q-x-x (x-x were bad). He flopped his Queen, bugger, but I turned my King, happy days.

I actually thought Ben was the best player in the Final, & deserved to win it. That's not to disrespect Alex in any way, he was a worthy winner, too.

I sort of regret my exit hand (there's a thing....), but at least, for once, I went down with all guns blazing, instead of blinding away & then shoving & hoping.

I had 2 good draws, & some other outs on the turn (I had top pair, nut flush  drawm & gutterball straight draw) but I missed the lot. Bugger.

That, overall, was the best I can play Omaha. I wanted that Bracelet SO badly, I can't begin to tell you.

He is a smashing lad, & played the game in a lovely spirit.

I don't begrudge him the victory one iota. Give him my best wishes & congrats, please.
