Me and my girls went to the York railway museum yesterday they are in love with trains. If they have "Chu Chu" noise or smoke that seems to really make them giddy and happy. Such a fantastic place to visit for kids and free!
We all went at half term, the kids all loved it. I read it is threatened with closure which is a shame.
Pity the council isn't so welcoming to visitors, and aren't so keen for people to visit their City.
http://www.yorkpress.co.uk/features/readersletters/11046894.Debate_continues_over_Lendal_Bridge_trial/
I saw a sign that told me that Lendal Bridge was closed, but telling me Lendal bridge is closed is fairly meaningless if I don't live there, and looking ahead I couldn't see any obviously closed bridge. Just a bunch of other traffic on the way to paying £30 to York Council it turned out. There were some other signs I noticed just before the bridge, but there weren't many other obvious places to go. I am sure if you asked 100 people, less than 5 would say that looked like a bus lane.
Hope you found a way out without crossing it!
I knew of the Bridge as its on the local Yorkshire news a bit, business, resisdents and visitors calling it misleading and unnecessary. We went via train from Leeds you can access the museum via the back of the station.
£12 day return on train, free entry to museum

Lagerfeld created an international furore on 9 February 2012, when he called the singer Adele "a little too fat." This caused instant fury throughout the United Kingdom, and Lagerfeld responded with a statement of apology. Adele hit back by saying she is like the majority of women, and she is very proud of that fact. Lagerfeld later caused another controversy, on 31 July 2012, when he criticized Pippa Middleton, sister of Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, for her looks. The comment was made when Lagerfeld was praising Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, for her "romantic beauty" before adding: "I don't like the sister's face. She should only show her back."

The eccentric creative director of Chanel said the one-year-old white Siamese cat was his most prized possession.
Choupette has its own staff, including three maids who are tasked with noting down everything the feline does while Largerfeld is away from their home in Paris so that he can check up on how his beloved pet is spending its time.
"There is no marriage, yet, for human beings and animals… I never thought that I would fall in love like this with a cat," Lagerfeld told CNN's Fashion Week: Backstage Pass.
When asked if the cat flies by private jet, Largerfeld said: "Yes, why not?"
Choupette is well known among fashion circles. As well as its own maids, the cat has 27,000 followers on Twitter. It has its own pillow and dines with Largefeld twice a day, eating food that has been specially prepared.

So you don't do art but fashion is OK? That's a fine line to walk Mr K.

No, not Fashion, Tom, just blown away by the sheer imagery of this chap. Who I had never heard of 3 hours ago.
What a diverse world we live in.

Incidentally, you may wonder, from time to time, what degenerate topics get discussed on Fred.
This post was made on Sunday, by a regular Freddie. It is a "Bet Recommend".
I kid you not. Can you believe that, the depths of knowledge some blondes possess?
You don't know what you are missing.
I'm not quite at the point where I can recommend a particular one, but might as well put up the product of my research. Adz and others might want to skip this post. Seriously. It isn't manly.
The Oscars are as important for what happens outside the show as for what happens inside. Style is absolutely everything. "Who are you wearing?" is cried and bellowed by the myriad snappers and paps that thrust themselves against the hoardings lining the red carpet.
Patrick Parr has a market I like: Who will make Best Actress's dress?
Let's start with an assumption: it's Cate Blanchett. She's 1/16. It's not
Awards season is jam packed with red (and blue) carpet appearances and the stars not directly affiliated to couturiers will likely be seen wearing a variety of Houses' works over the weeks.
In the last few weeks, Blanchett has worn:
Roksana Ilincic
Givenchy
Armani (at an Armani bash, granted, but also at the Golden Globes)
Valentino
Lanvin
Alexander McQueen (at the BAFTAs)
Prada
Gucci
Maison Martin Margiela
You get the idea...
http://www.oddschecker.com/awards/oscars/best-actress-dress-designer
She has also accessorised recently with Gucci (none of the other contenders have had handbags or shoes on her; those were all from other designers not on the bookies' list) and I wonder whether that's what's meant the price had come in a bit on that.
I think we can definitely discount McQueen (obvious English choice at the BAFTAs) and Armani (she wore two at the Armani do the other day and she won Best Dress at the Golden Globes for a stunning Armani gothic piece). That knocks out a good chunk of the price. We should be able to throw a dart or two reasonably confidently.
Lanvin caused a bit of a stir the other week when four of the top stars rocked up in pieces (including rivals Blanchett and Sandra Bullock). The extra tabloid inches for that suggest she won't have another Lanvin dress tonight.
She wore a Balenciaga dress to the premiere of Blue Jasmine last summer, which caused a huge stir, as it was a replica of a famous 1967 dress. Would she really wear the same House to the big show? It's a very bold label and I'm not convinced you want to go in there looking like poor Tilda Swindon did when she won. Cate had that criticism at the Deauville premiere of Blue Jasmine in Dior. It didn't work and she got some stick. No chance she's in Dior tonigh IMO. She also took some stick for her silver Prada dress at the Nominations do, which she chose to wear without the sweater that was used to soften it on the catwalk. Again, once bitten and all that.
Givenchy is a fair favourite IMO. You want long, elegant dresses and, this season, bright, powerful colours (the Fashion Weeks were packed with blues and fuchsias; vibrant colours). I'm struggling to commit to it as a recommend because it's 2/1 and there are a lot of assumptions to get me there.
Thought I'd share what I have done anyway. For anyone who's betting on coloursc black was sooooooo last year. Go with blues and fuschias and other bright colours.

That Post was followed by hours of debate, & not a little gawping.
Chompy even found a photo of one of the Oscar starlets leaving Australia, & boarding a 'plane with a bag branded Gucci.
We all lumped on, obv.

He is one or the few people who are known by a single name. How much would Karl.com have cost?
Few? Even low scoring football players from lowly teams like Spurs are known by single names. Think we'd all know who Suarez, Gerrard and Rooney are too. Adele, Beyoncé, Bono, dare say most would even know who Sinitta was. I'd happily put Sinitta up vs Lagerfield.
