Always good to fire one up before reading it.

So, this weird thing that happened...
Starting table is pretty fun. We have some characters and the usual mixture of 'phone-tappers and mojito sippers. All good. Chap to my left, it turns out, spent a few years as a professional golfer (on the national circuit, friends with Jordan Speith, no less). We have a chat about that. Chap to my right is a Californian and seems to have a dry, almost British wit. He is engaged in our conversation with the golf fellow. We're having fun.
There is a brief pause in between stories about high stakes golf games chaap to the left has seen. The chap to my right now opens - and this is without any segue -
"So I'm watching this porn reality show at the moment..."

Fellow to my left helps me out.
"Sorry?"
"It's really awesome. There's eight guys and eight girls. They have to do all kinds of stuff to each other and they do the whole thing as a reality show, so the winners get to be professional pornstars. It's AMAZING. Got a host and everything."
Clearly not a reader of people's body language and facial expressions, he now gets his phone out.
I am approximately this comfortable right now
Mercifully, he is under the gun and has to check his cards first. I take the opportunity to ask golf guy a deliberately boring question about bankroll management when on the golf tour, such that I know it'll draw him into a conversation for a few minutes. Guy to my right withdraws momentarily and tinkers about with his phone, putting his headphones in.
Oh good, I reason. He's moved on and is going to listen to some music.
Nope.
He's watching the show.
He spent what I can only suggest was a couple of hours watching, presumably, various episodes of this, in between playing hands. I am not going to describe anything else. I can't unsee what I saw but I reckon I can cover enough with Ron Swanson gifs and allowing those so minded to apply their imagination.

Ok, that last one isn't a reference; I just love that quote.
I honestly can't believe he was just sitting there watching it, bold as brass. I find
Game of Thrones
gratuitous, so this is whatever is ten above "a bit much". He was still in when I left.
I'm certain that's a first for me, and I've seen a fair few things at the tables. Karabiner? Red-DOG? Anyone else match or beat that?
By the way, if you've never seen
Parks and Recreation
, I can assure you it's good. Very few episodes you wouldn't be comfortable watching with your mother.
Lol great story bud. Cheers

Oh right. It was still a fair point, anyway. Lots of investors and people wanting to know about tikay. Plenty who read this diary but don't air their views on the forum still hold that position.
It was helpful for me to get some immediate feedback on hands while playing the comp yesterday. Plus tikay and I were on adjacent tables.
All good anyway. I won't be starting a diary, but thanks.

Think it makes much sense to co update if you're playing same comp. Do think if everyone were doing personal updates in Vegas on Tony's diary it'd get very clogged.
I still think you should do a diary. Enjoy the pictorial updates

Some 1980's poodle-permed prancer who talks rather like Micky Wernick* currently on BBC2 performing live at Glastonbury.
*Appears to sing considerably better although to be fair I've not heard Micky sing.
There's a considerable crowd enjoying his gig too, must be at least five thousand, all in full waterproofs and/or sporting umbrellas - proper dedicated fan-base fo' sho'.

I was really rather pleased Tal posted here, the "stereo Update" seemed to work well, & he writes so damn well, always a joy to read.
The more he posts on here the better, imo.
That Aria Comp was fun, partly because both of us were there, & Updating.
I still need to reply to a ton of stuff on here, going back to the WSOP adventure, I've not forgotten, but I have to get my work done first. Been playing so much, living the dream, but next week I have a few blank days.
I'll return to that Aces hand from yesterday later today, too, it panned out quite interestingly in the end.
Best push on with my work to-do list first, 16 items on the list right now.
