great pics from 58 years ago and thanks for the post about trigg currently huge chip leader 3 handed made me watch the live stream when i haven't cared about live poker for years.   Trigg has to be right up there with anyone alive any normal bloke loves seeing win a big one.   Can't belleive this has made nearly £500k!  covid lockdown must have made them come out to play.   They were struggling to get 300 runners for these 2 years ago.   This must be close to, if nott bigger, than an all time gukpt high for runner even a decade ago in the glory years.  Sure even Jaffa didn't get £135k for winning his at walsall.   Genting pulling the plug on live poker might be G casinos win.

I think you are modest Tikay and under estimate the love for yourself and what you did for live poker way back.  I started playing because of PNL in 2005.   You have done a lot for the game without having the huge results for me.

Am watching that stream now. Would so love for Trigg to win it. Weird to think he's old school now. Quite a few old school cashed - Lynne Beaumonte, Terry Jordan, McTaggart/Boba Fett, Stu Rutter, Middy. Noticed Richard Kellett's name in the mix too.

PS -  thank you for the kind words.

Trigg and raggy would easily be in the top 10 of genuinely nice guys i have ever met in live poker.   There aren't many in that club.  Raggy is a proper legend of the game at dtd.

We're all good thanks 🙂 Gatters and I are finally joining the ranks of the grown ups and buying a house, so preparing for a move out to Aylesbury next month.

My baby girl Hannah (who was a cute 3 year old when I joined up here) is now 18 and off to uni in Manchester in a few weeks. I know she'll love it and it will be great for her, but I'm not sure I'm entirely emotionally prepared for it myself.

I haven't seen Paulina for ages, I think the last time was at our wedding 7 years back, but keep in touch via Facebook and she'll always be a friend for life.

Genuinely really lovely to see you looking in such fine form. Are you still with Sky?

Hannah, that's it. You are correct.

I'll bet good money you'll shed a few tears the day she leaves for Uni. Can't believe she's that sort of age. Incred.

Paulina, how come I knew it was a "P" & 7 letters but could not remember her actual name? Lovely girl, amazingly bright. You, Paulina, Bolt & I all met up on the South Bank one night iirc?

Am still with Sky Poker, yes, just coming up to 15 years. Been WFH for a while now though.

This photo was taken 58 years ago this week - there I was, with my Burton's suit, heading off to my first ever day at work, full of excitement & hope about life ahead. (The dog was Susie, who tried to follow me to work).

And this was taken yesterday, in the very same spot, as I approach the other end of the journey. There's a whole life story there. For sure, I've not aged well.

Apart from a brief period after I "retired", I've worked non-stop all my life, & loved every minute of it. In the 40 years prior to retiring I had just three jobs, and since retiring, ignoring short spells with Wm Hill TV, Sporting Bet & PNL, I've been with Sky Poker 15 years. In all that time - 58 years -  I've had a grand total of three days off sick, which was after my heart attack in 2017.

I suffer from incredible insecurity about my job & am scared to bits of being jobless. I pester them non-stop to give me more work, they must be sick to death of me asking, but I guess there's only so much I can do given my limited abilities & age.

Amazing how fast life flew past.

Hedge has aged ok, though Wink

Amazing how quick life flies along, for sure.

The house has aged well..

I love it when I see 'Time Machine' type photographs like these. "Here i am going to work for the first time, now, let's fast-forward 58 years..."

They are fascinating to a casual observer but can be incredibly poignant if you are the person in the shot.

Wouldn't it be great if you could pick 58 moments from the intervening years to have photographs of and wouldn't it be a tough job picking them?

Missed it all, but congrats Trigg.  Seems great timing by Grosvenor to take you back.

Four of us went to Manchester
Me - won £500 on roulette and paid for my one seniors buy in and the hotel
Denise - lost £100 on slots first night ,won £88 when we went by weds am to buy in to seniors .she was then £400 in while we played the seniors ,put another £20 in and dropped the £9600 jackpot - with my “ you’ll never win much on 0.50 p a spin” resonating in her ears - a small ball gambler is Denise and her life’s wish was to drop a jackpot achieved!
I.F my mate who’s been going to Blackpool every other week for 6 weeks now to play cash after visiting a wholesale client of his in Manchester . A lol fish like me ,but loves playing
RB from Peterborough a reg on the Gukpt

The latter two both felt unwell yesterday and subsequently tested positive for covid with a lateral flow test !
Both are double vaccinated
