Don't think he ever did.   Pretty sure it wasn't that long since he played his first WSOP event (5 years or so?).

When you sit with good players you realise how not good you are ? Well I do anyway
But it’s always good to watch them in the live theatre
Like tikay says every hand is like xmas eve until you open them up and realise it’s Boxing Day
But sitting on them chairs is my pet hate ,my bum hurts my hips hurt my knees start playing up too so uncomfortable
I had a cushion but of course being old n pre Alzheimer’s I walked off n forgot it

Maurice Hawkins was the slickest player I saw in action

Yes, it's a delight to watch good players in action at close quarters, & you can insta spot them.

Maurice Hawkins "slick"? He's certainly that, judging by the stories that regularly circulate as to his financial probity.

I think the best I sat with was Patrik Antonios in his prime.  I don't think it was a delight playing him, but he had an aura around him.  Steve Sung I remember too, sat on my left in the main event one year.  He ended up crippling me as I recall.   Erik Seidel seemed really solid when I played him too, dare say he doesn't make many mistakes.

I have sat with Phil Hellmuth a couple of times and he doesn't seem to have much game, though you can't deny his results.

Think I'd go for Joe Hachem as the biggest gap between his ability and how good he thinks he is.   Maybe he has realised and given up O8 though, as I didn't see him around this year.   Suspect Matusow would be in this camp, though have only heard his tales of woe from nearby tables.

Uh, wow.  Some mad hands in the WSOP this year.  Don't know where you pull this move from, I read a tweet that made me think he had the ace of clubs, which makes some sense.  As it was his opponent seeme to seriously consider folding, I think I would too.

In fact he was briefly on my table in the WSOP Main, which I'm pretty sure was his first WSOP. I remember having pocket sixes against him & winning the hand. Probably my first & last time I ever beat him in a pot. May have been the only hand I won too, I vividly recall being racked with nerves. $10k of other folks money is quite a responsibility.

I had not met him much before that, but we hooked up out there & he was very generous with his time & advice, & despite graduating to Billy Big Shot he's always been very kind, helpful & warm to me in the ensuing years.

He was in that $1,500 Omaha Mix I played last week & shared a table with Ben Mayhew, aka Sunday8pm - do you remember him? He still plays & was with the Sky Poker qualifiers last week. Think he's the goalkeeper for Bury Town, which must be in your neck of the woods.

An abrupt change of topic, but has domestic Politics, both in the USA & the UK, ever been more fascinating?

Every time Trump Tweeted or opened his mouth was a wow moment, & as much as I despised him, I eagerly read everything he Tweeted & listened to his speeches.

Ditto the compulsive liar Boris Johnson. I've never really followed Politics closely, but just felt compelled to watch & read as he wriggled & twisted his way out of corruption crisis after crisis, all of his own doing.

And just when you thought the "fun" was over, this Lady throws her hat in the ring.

I mean, can you even BEGIN to imagine how much "fun" it would be if she were Prime Minister, especially as she has her own squadron of photographers in tow every day. (Has any Politician ever posted her own photo on Twitter as many times as she has?).

I'm not sure if she's representing Eve or Newton here.

Eve Newton perhaps?

Now I am questioning my own sanity.  Turned out I blew $250 on that Sad  The deep runs are easier to remember and guess they are easier to remember when I am there and railing?    Remember the big PLO8 run much more anyway.
