Very pleased to read that.
It's very odd how we behave even in our autumn days when we are notionally wiser etc.
Considering the career you've had and the fact that most people like you, it's amazing something holds you back from initiating something like this - anyway, great that this happy on course collision happened.
I'm a great believer in Karma.
Good things happen to good people.

At the end of 2023, when the Media do their "Most Iconic Images of 2023" this will be #1.

I'm glad to hear that you've found a nice game close to where you live.
Also pleased to hear that Jamie and Neil are back playing. Jamie was a longtime member at Beeston Fields but the last I heard he'd given the game up.
I bet Neil hits the ball a long way when he catches one as he's a very well-built specimen, looking healthy too.
Actually you all look pretty trim for gentlemen of a certain age..
Fourball at Wollaton sometime?

I would, but I'd probably get banned for what I want to say.
So I'll just go with "covfefe"

As usual , I find it hard to put into words the surprise and delight of seeing you again after all these years.
As per usual you downplay the talents you have . To hit the ball with your driver that far at your age it
must be of great satisfaction that you get it past the ladies tee.
Don’t forget your wallet the next time we play , Trev is the ultimate bandit.

Hi Ralph.
These days Jamie is, I believe, a member at Breadsall Priory. Says he is 10 strokes better there than anywhere else. He's a sort of man of leisure these days, works 6 months (winter) & lives the life of idle Riley the summer months. He's not aged well, mind.
Neil does indeed hit the ball a very long way, & is much the better player I'd say. Think he did a good job to hold his belly in for the 'photo.
Would love a 4 ball at Wollaton, though put me down as 1st reserve, as Jamie, Neil & Trevor (typhoon) are a regular group & I would not want to intrude, but there's every chance one of them will be unavailable so I might well be OK.
How is your wrist now, & have you been able to discover your "touch" around the greens yet? A broken wrist at our age takes a bit of getting over.

And yet you still expect me to play off 25 against Team Bandit? 35 is my final offer.
PS - I know it sounds weird, but 4 days later I'm still buzzing.
