What would YOU do if........

You are the Chief Constable responsible for an area that includes the M25.

You are responsible for the safety of the public, & for keeping good order.

A protester climbs atop a Signal Gantry spanning the M25 near Heathrow on Friday morning.

Do you.....

a) Close the Motorway, inconveniencing tens of thousands of regular people, for their own safety?

Shoot the Protester?

b) Ignore the protester, & leave the road open - with it's attendant risks to public safety?

c) Would your decision be influenced by the nature/purpose of the protest?

From Sky News......

A campaigner dressed as Batman is on a gantry above the motorway, affecting traffic travelling anti-clockwise between junctions 14 and 15.

Holidaymakers heading for Heathrow are among those hit by the rush hour stunt on one of Britain's busiest roads.

The Highways Agency said traffic jams were stretching back to junction 16.

It is thought the protestor is linked to F4J, whose members frequently dress as superheroes during campaigns.

The group was formed in 2002 to campaign for improved father's rights in the family courts and improve access to children after a divorce or separation.

Yes because nothing says "I am an adult and can take care of my children" like standing on a big building or bridge in a batman suit for a couple of hours Wink

I chanced upon a word this morning that contains two consecutive "u"'s.

Without the aid of google, can you name that word? And any others which have two consecutive "u"'s?

and the added bonus that closing down a motorway gets the public on your side

I would send a team of guys up there to take him down. I am sympathetic to their cause but I wouldn't be having that sort of protest. If he did not want to come down I'd charge him, arrest him and throw the entire book at him.

He remains atop the gantry. Traffic is now backed up 18 miles - & not moving.

I really don't know why they shut the roads for these arseholes.

All it needs is a phone call from the police to the head of the Fathers for Justice people saying 'the next one gets shot down' and it ends.
