Sky UK poker tour.....well north UK poker tour....
Maybe we could have a Southern Division as well?
Tikay can you please tell Michelle that if she wants any tuition before this all kicks off that i might consider it as long as she desists in her slowrolling activities.
The last time I looked, Nottingham, Birmingham, & South Wales were not in the North....
All locations remain possible, but we need to go to places we have not visited before.
Miss Orpe? I'll leave that to you to convey onwards. I'm scared of her.
They are all in the north!!
P.S. Salon FTW

Played the Luton £75 Freezeout last night. About 60 runners, the regulars, plus the Friday-Night Tourists, plus, unusually for a £75 Friday night in Luton, Willie Tann.
Had a 3 way Last-Longer with Compo & Simon Galloway, Compo bust out first - well - first hand actually - and the last time I looked, he'd once again made the "Heavy-Mob" Dealers Choice players cross-eyed with his plays, & was over £1,200 ahead.
I got a lovely treble up in Level 1, when I Check-Raised all-in on the Turn with the nut straight (2 spades on Board), & got TWO callers. Flush draw & set? Nope. Flush Draw & second pair! The River blanked, & now I had 17,000 chips, with Blinds at zilch, & the Average Stack being 5,300.
How to donk them off?
Well, I can play my way to this Final quite easily more times than not, so I've got a nice foundation to work with. But I've got, almost uniquely for me, gambling chips......
And then this hand went off. Table reaction afterwards to advisability of the play was split down the middle.
The scene.
I am Cut-Off to Willie's Big Blind, the Table is super-passive, & multi-limpage is common. Therefore, I am frequently Raising in Cut-Off & Button to Willie's Blinds to vacuum up this dead money. (Not always successfully). Willie notices this, comments accordingly, & is getting a bit edgy about it.
Blinds are 100-200 now, I've got about 15k now, average is about 6,000, & Willie has 5,000. Everything is fine, I just need to sit quietly for 2 or 3 hours. Or "go for it" & get one of those super-dooper stacks the LAG's so often get.
So, it goes Limp, Limp, & gets to me with A-K, & I make it 1,000.
Willie gives me a stare, & a speech, "you gotta stop Raising my Blind" sorta thing. Yeah, yeah. Then he makes it 3k to go. (My 1k, plus 2k more).
Well, if I shove here, we know Willie won't Pass, as he only has 2k more behind.
So, I can Pass, or invest a Total of 5k, in a Pot in which, so far, I only have 1k (out of a 15k stack) invested.
What do I put Willie on here? Not sure, but probably not much - I'm almost certainly racing, maybe even better. Willie can make this play with air.
I weighed up the pros & cons, & decide it's a good spot, & set Willie in.
Willie insta-calls with Tens, job done. (The result of the hand is not relevant, though I lost it, he hit quads).
So, I've lost a third of my stack here, & doubled up Willie.
What would you have done in my spot?
All the Table said it was a no-brainer. But half of them thought it was a no-brainer Pass, & half thought it was a no-brainer shove.
And you?

I'd have shoved in a flash but I'm sure that Ironstein would have folded.

Insta-shove.
You are effectively calling 4k to win 6.5k on a situation you think you are prob. 50/50 or better.

Insta-Shove.
It gives me a warm feeling inside that poker is still beatable, that this hand is considered debatable.

I think Tikay has been caught bluffing a bit recently at Luton and that AK v TT hand is a level to help rebuild his reputation as being a bit tight.

Is this a TK windup ?
How can anyone justify a fold ?
I mean, I'm useless, and even I shove this everyday, and twice on Sundays.
If you're going to fold this, you might just as well not bet in the first place, and then go to the bar until the FT is reached.
