"Walk straight in" is great, untll somone who is barred for trying to burn the venue down with a gallon of petrol and a box of matches, (It happened, I was there) "walks straight in"
I say keep the "sign in" method

lol. by that logic we should make people sign in at pubs, shopping cedntres, libraries and restaurants in case someone tries to burn them down and then comes back another time

Well what I really mean is that some people are barred from casino's for good reason. i.e. abusing staff/other players, cheating, stealing etc. Signing in makes it easy to keep track and avoid unpleasantness.

is that not also true of all the places I mentioned though? why should casinos be different other than the fact that they have always been different in the past?

I don't agree. You wouldn't walk out of a pub to have a smoke leaving hundreds of pounds on the table. You wouldn't be worried that some readers in the library were colluding and secretly telling each other which books they were reading.

lci afaik control the access of banned punters by the face recognition camreras similar to those at airports at the front desk. as long as they're keeping people out this way what's the need for people to sign in?

Sorry. I obviously didn't make myself clear in my initial post. I don't mind if peeps actually sign in or not, I just think they should keep track of who's coming in and prevent people who are barred from entering.

I don't see how they could at Brighton for instance, Within 10 seconds you can go from street to gaming floor. Even if all faces are scanned (Which I doubt) you could lower your head for a moment, there are no closed doors to stop you, they would have to come and eject you, assuming they could find you.

"Birds of The Netherlands & Belgium" is hardly a heading likely to inspire too many of you to click this Link. I genuinely think this is one of the finest collection of birdlife photographs I have ever seen. Birdlovers will adore the exquisite photography, colour, & detail. Non Birdlovers, best to avoid it, probably.
The first pic most of you have seen, the rest are all "new". Use the "Next Picture" clicker thing, top right above the picture.

Oh they're just stunning!
I understand that things evolve in such a way as to make best use of their surroundings, but why do they need to get so damn beautiful in the process?
I just knew - KNEW - that those pictures would only interest Tom & Rod, but if you have even a passing interest in wildlife, please take a look at them. Even the humble House Sparrow & Tree Sparrow look beautifiul when properly photographed. The owls are stunning too, ditto the meadow pipit's, blue tits, kingfishers, wood pigeon, finches, so many.
A big thank you to Steve "Punchbag" Kirk, for alerting me to them.
I spent 3 hours perusing those photograph last night, & have still not finished. To think, I could have been playing poker, tsk, tsk.
One of my faves

I know a couple of guys who work security there. there have been a couple of barred members who have tried it on, security was on them in under a minute.
They do check every face coming in.

if they get past the front desk there are cameras everywhere.
I was shown some of the systems in a Polish casino where they're less secretive about the process. at any time they can look at an individual gaming table and get a list of everyone sat at it, it's quite impressive actually

Under a minute? I could eat almost £3.50 worth of buffet in that time.
