Joe Beevers got in touch, he has a few ideas for us, some tweaks, which he thinks might help. And he found a little bit of Full-Tilt Affiliate Money which belongs to us, not a fortune, but a nice little dollop, so he paid that pronto.
We (Tighty & I) are going across to his office next Wednesday, for a Meet, & I'm confident he'll be able to give us a few good ideas. He's a bit of a computer geek, Joe, & he's helped us over & over again down the years.
And there's that Karma thing again. We don't mess with his Forum, nor he ours, & that's important.
Thanks Joe.

On Thursday, it's Flushy's turn to receive the Tighty-tikay delegation.
We spoke earlier in the week, & again today. In fact, we've spoken a lot of times about, potentially, him buying a tranche of blonde Shares.
If he can get a Staking thing golng, via blonde, it has to be positive.
But there are certain protocols to observe here. We can't say "come on in Flushy, the water is nice & warm, all is well". We have to tell him everything, warts & all. And we have. There's no other way. I don't need him coming on board & then saying "sheesh, I wish I'd known this that & the other". So it's not at easy as it might seem, I cannot & will not do a selling job on him. He has to decide, with the full facts on the Table, & then it's between him & the Vendor as to whether they can agree numbers. We cannot & must not involve ourselves in that negotiation, it would be wholly improper.
And there are now other suitors circling, several, some of them "interesting", so in that respect, the fact that blonde is now "in play" is not all bad.
All will become clearer soon - I hope.
In response to severl enquiries, I have no intention of leaving blonde not now, not ever. I just want this hassle to end, it's blighted my retirement something shocking. But I'm here, for ever - unless, that is, new owners come in & it's clear I'm surplus to their requirements, & I'm not wanted here, in which case, so be it.
I'm not here for money. I just love the place, & think it's worth fighting for. So while I have no plans to sell my Shares, they are there to be used for the betterment of the Site as a whole. That is not code for "I might sell if someone offered the right number". It's "I'd give them away, if it'd help, or stick them in a Trust Fund or summat, if it helps settle everything down". And I mean that. My Shares were nearly sold a year or so back for a 6 figure sum, but the deal fell over. I never lost a moments sleep. I got the Shares for free. I've invested, financially, maybe £70k, which is gone, probably. Too bad, but it matters not a jot. I've invested as much again in time & effort. Ditto, too bad.
I just want rid of all this bloody hassle, this behind-the-scenes shite. It's horrible.
But blonde HAS paid me good Dividends. In fun, friends, loyalty, pride, & much much more. All of which mean a lot more than money.
See, sunshine & showers again.

So, come Saturday moning, it's another non-blonde weekend, & it's the start of the 2009 APAT Season, with 200 runners due at Walsall. My new APAT apparel arrived today, very smart it is, too. This APAT community is a terrific thing, & I'm looking forward to it immensely. We never have problems on APAT Days, the guys are just great, & they know they are getting unbeatable value. We still do "no Reg Fee, Added-Value", & decent structure, which nobody, anywhere, offers for £75. It pisses me off a treat that "small buy-in" players, regular guys, are discriminated against so badly by the Venues.
On Sunday, it's a Double-Hatter, APAT Day Two & "In-Poker" filming, so I'm looking forward to that too.
The APAT field this weekend is a sort of collision of al my worlds. Friends from blonde, APAT, Sky Poker, all will be there.
Monday I'm doing 2 Sky Shows from Feltham, (one recorded, one Live), & on Tuesday I go down to Sussex for a Sky Poker engagement. And on Wednesday & Thursday I don the blonde cap again. Boring, it's not.

I was in the Green Room at Feltham yesterday, & who should be on Telly, Live fom Dubai, but Compo. He looked immaculate - no, really! - in a lovely suit & tie, proper smart.
He interviewed Sheikh Mohammed. Can you imagine, interviewing him? I mean, he's Royalty - more than Royalty probs, & worth gazillions. A degree of deference, respect, & cap-doffing is in order, but it's still not the easiest gig to interview the great man, master of all things Godolphin & half the thoroughbred world, Arab world, too, & find the right "touch", not intrusive, but not sychophantic either.
But Compo got it absolutely spot on, he totally nailed it.
It's great to have pals you can be proud of.
He arrives back from Dubai on Saturday, & will be at my side, on In-Poker, on Sunday, in Walsall. If he expects deference from me, though, he can whistle.
Have a great weekend, all of you. I'll catch up on the PM's as soon as I can.

Have you noticed how, all of a sudden, being grossly offensive has become fashionable?
We all know that humour is subjective, as is taste, but with age, perhaps, the line between acceptable & plain wrong seems to become clearer, & it's not something I like.
Brand & Ross, how funny was that? - if you were Mr Sachs. (Let's not debate it, we'd never agree). End result, Brand & Ross become almost heroes.
Now Clarkson, whose writing I much admire, decides he can call our Prime Minister a one-eyed liar, or whatever. We don't have to like or dislike Mr Brown, but surely, we can do a little better line in insults than that, even damn him with faint praise, perhaps?
It's like these "Showbiz Personalties", have become almost royalty, & they feel they can say what they want. I watched Clarkson do his thing tonight, insulting easy targets fom afar - (that's brave), like an overgrown schoolboy, "look how big my cock is".
And it's becoming the thing, everywhere, even on blonde now.
We saw it with our Olympic Swimmer, not an iota of respect, just "look at her conk, I'd not give her one". You fucking wish laddo.
A teenager was killed this week in a sledging accident. OK, worse things happen. But she was on the threshold of her life, & died tragically & horribly. So a blonde made a joke of it, the very next day. And barely a soul batted an eyelid. He's a good blonde, steady & intelligent, not given to drug or alcohol -induced outbursts as so many are. Whatever was he thinking? Why did we just accept it? It was nothing short of gross.
And yesterday, talking about Will Smith, some cock came on here & called him "
a nigger, from the jungle
". Why? It was a joke, see?
WHAT?
Is it beyond the wit & education of these blaggards to use a bit of finesse if they wanna insult someone? (Rhetorical).
PS - Yes, we got the ban-stick out. In fact, the Mods were jostling to be the one who banned the idiot.

I can't speak for anyone else, but I'm always weary of speaking my mind on such issues as I was kind of riduculed once for being offended by something
The way I see it is if the majority find something out of line, then someone else will say something. Pretty pussy like of me I suppose, but I don't like to rock the boat.
as for the comment about Will Smith, I didn't see it, but am horrified that someone on blonde would say such things. Please tell me this wasn't an established member of the forum?

No, he was fairly new. He'd been allowed out of pre-nursery for the day, I believe.

It was my understanding that the person in question said they were not aware of the incident when the joke was made?

You see, that's the problem. We say nothing, so everyone thinks it's fine to grossly insult the disfigured, perhaps not so pretty, black, disabled, or less fortunate. And so it goes on.
Maybe, one day, the wheel will turn full cycle, & repect & human decency will become fashionable. Or these foul-mouthed idiots will be issued with mirrors, the better to look at themselves.

it's hardly rocket science though is it bolt? I wasn't aware of what had happened when I read the 'joke' on the thread, but my first thought was 'if that's true, that's sick', so I went over to a news site and checked it out.

To what incident are you referring? The sledging accident, or the "nigger" comment?

I'd be happy to believe the person though, as much as there are taboo's in comedy it's always alleviated by time(though in this instance i dont personally think that particular joke, IF made referencing the previous day accident, is ever cool) so i'm inclined to think someone couldn't be that obtuse and insensitive, especially to it's topical impropriety, if someone says they didnt know i guess you have to believe them, no?
