I keep finding these giant field mushrooms. I'd love to eat them but I'm only 90% sure they are mushrooms?

Can anyone reassure me?

Rod?

I hate mushrooms but I'd feed them to my parents. (For clarity I DO like my parents).

Just caught three youngsters in the garden at the same time, although I couldn't get them to all pose together for one pic!

That's a new one on me... Google to the rescue!  And it wasn't the obvious one.

Think they are actually called 'field mushrooms'.

According to Wiki, it's a horse mushroom.

I did. They both seem likely candidates, but after reading the descriptions and the 'How to identify' stuff, horse mushrooms seem more likely because of the size.

I'm happy to be overruled though.

My dad always used to refer to those big field mushrooms as "horse" mushrooms.

I never ever considered that they were a breed.
