The most expensive private residence to ever go on the market...$190,000,000.00!

According to Zillow's mortgage calculator and assuming a 20 percent down payment (which would be $38 million) on a 30-year fixed-rate mortgage, a monthly payment would be $687,734.

I've never understood why anyone would want such a huge house, unless they had 10+ kids and their spouses and maybe both sets of grandparents living with them!
Seriously, what do you need all those rooms for?
If I watch a property program like 'Escape to the Country' I guarantee they'll be a retired couple insisting on four beds, (en-suite) two reception rooms, a snug, a kitchen with breakfast bar and separate dining room, a utility room, a studio for Mildred's pottery kiln and a loft room for Malcolm's train set.
Then there will have to be a self contained annex in case one of the children stays the night.
Surely this cant be right? All those rooms that need cleaning, heating, decorating and generally maintaining, only to stand empty 90% of the time.
I dunno. I rather just have the land that $190,000,000.00 house is sitting on. Or just the money.

First thing I thought of when I saw the photo was, pity the person responsible for housekeeping!
I guess anyone who can afford a house like that, usually has a large team of people to look after it, but it still pains me to think of cleaning it.

I just hate the thought of being more than two good strides away from the outdoors.

Why do you need two pairs of trousers to go outdoors?

Ease off kinboshi, red dog. You clearly don't know how much chinos about these things.

I think I'm logging off. Don't want to be around when it all flares up.

Don't worry. I'll stop now. I know when it's time to put the breeks on.

This is the best lip syncing since The Animals 'House of the Rising sun' video.
The song has cheered me up no end as well! Stick with it, you'll be humming it tommorow
