No. I don't usually watch it. It's too....  American for me. Not that I have anything against America, I just don't like the sort of dumbed down, sticky sweetness of some of their shows.

Did it make you think of me because I'm a Gypsy Mond, or because you think I'm like the Gypsies he described?

Either way, I'm glad you posted it.

I went to Hartlebury museum today and I saw, among other things, a terrific falconry display.

After everyone had gone, by way of apology for asking a gazillion questions, I stayed behind to give the falconer a hand with his gear.

Once everything was stowed away we sat and chatted while Freddie, a Peregrine hybrid, ate his dinner of half a dozen day-old chicks. (He eats every bit btw, feathers, bones, feet, beak, everything.) When he's working he only gets four chicks, but apparently, tomorrow is his day off

It was great seeing Freddie close up. See how the sides if his skull protrudes? It forms a natural visor, protecting his eyes from the sun when he flies at altitude. Look at his nostrils. They have little plugs so that he can regulate the air flow when he's diving (Or stooping, as we call it Tongue)

See that little notch in his beak? It's for breaking the spine of prey birds.

Isn't he fabulous?

The falconer asked me if I knew what the most common owl in the UK was, he said it began with the letter T.

I said Tawny, but the said "No, it's the teet."

I didn't understand why I'd never heard of it until I was halfway home.

I am going to get such a beating from the future Mrs Paradise for repeating that one  Grin - she hates puns....

Heard this on the radio yesterday. It was called the Celebrity Registration Plate Quiz.

PA 75 WOK.

The first two letters are a person's initials, the numbers are the year and the last three letters are a significant event in their life.

I got the 'what it was' bit, but couldn't get the 'who it was'.

I know now cos I just googled it, but I kicked myself because once I got the event I really should have got the whole thing.

Can you get it without googling?

Here's an easy (ish) one to get you started.

Tinternet is soo frustrating....

I need some of these 16mm square tube end caps.

I don't want to order them online, I want to go to a shop (Preferably near me) and buy some, but I can't find a search term that works, everything just invites me to buy online.

How do I search for a local bricks and mortar shop that has these in stock?
