A programme that may interest you tomorrow mr red dog BBC4.
What Happened Next?
They Steal Children Don't They?

Series which finds out what happened to people featured in past BBC documentaries.

In 1980 the BBC made a film about gypsies in East Anglia in an attempt to find out the reality behind the stereotypes. While some gypsies were prospering, relations with the wider public remained uncomfortable and ongoing problems with sites were threatening the entire gypsy way of life. A generation later, cameras return to the main family featured in the film.

This as something that is meant to tell those complaining about the treatment of Romani children to keep quiet;

"However, Mr Maroni dismissed Unicef's concerns. "This is the right path," he said. "There are children in these camps living with mice. Is that the right of an infant? The people like Unicef who complain should visit the camps and see the conditions in which children live." "

Maybe the Italian Govt should spend some money on improving the camps rather than fingerprinting every child in them?

I'm Appalled! I can't believe other European nations are not voicing an opinion about this, very frightening development.

I went for a walk around Croft quarry today, as I do most mornings. The path around the quarry is about two miles long, but you can't do a complete circumnavigation because a river and a railway track block the path just before you get back to where you started. You have to retrace your steps and go back he way you came. making it a four mile walk. This means that you have to climb croft hill twice, bloody hard going is too. (Just ask Tighty) It's worth it though, it's a beautiful nature trail and the views over the surrounding countryside are magnificent.

On one of the steepest parts of the trail, the ramblers association have cut a flight of rough steps into the hillside. Nothing fancy, just wooden battons for the risers and gravel for the treads. Still, they're a great help, especially when the grass is wet.

When I arrived at the steps today, there was a man with a very expensive looking camera. (It was on on a tripod and everything) Just as I started to climb the steps he said, "Excuse me sir, but would you mind if I take a picture?" "Of course not" I replied, flashing him my best Ace Rimmer smile and striking an heroic pose.

"You don't understand sir" He said with a sigh, "I want you to move while I photograph the steps....
