You won money and a £1K seat, can't be bad.
Not only that, but you got out of the maggot-race with some justification.
The only downside is that you won't be able to brag about it to the fete organisers.

Any betting on this maggot racing ?? Not sure if this is a level!!!! I have heard of plastic duck races at fetes down the village stream before at Medbourne in leics but maggot racing? Really? Get yourself to dtd and don't worry about the do gooders on the fete committee. 30% of the field get an £1100 seat today. Tell them you are going to be famous and on TV. We have duck races too.

I've always admired columnists, and I'm an avid fan of "From our own correspondent" type pieces. I found this one by Will Grant, particularly poignant. Why I wear the education minister's watch http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-27637269

Mam in hospital again. Sigh... Mrs Red & I left home at 9am so that we could make the 11am morning visit. Click to see full-size image. |
Went to the hospital canteen at lunchtime, it was pie and chips v a boxed salad. I made the sensible choice for once and immediately felt good about myself. Click to see full-size image. |
Mam was asleep when we went back on to the ward so we slipped away. I had a meeting in Matlock at 7pm so we had a few hours to kill. Normally we would have gone for a walk or something but it was pissing down so we went to the pictures and saw The Edge Of Tomorrow in 3D. Very good it was too too. Click to see full-size image. |
After the film we went to the meeting then drove home. It was about 11pm when we got in so I had a piece of cake and felt bad about myself. Click to see full-size image. |

Got up for a pee at 5am and realised mid stream that I have deleted my own pictures.

I'm such an idiot. I uploaded the pics to photobucket, then as soon as they were safely stored on my diary I deleted them from photobucket to save room and clutter, not realising, (until 5am this morning) that this images on my diary were just a link to the ones on photobucket.

So I've just done an experiment and found out that photos uploaded to blonde via the 'additional options' link stay put even if I delete the original, which seems to suggest that blonde is actually hosting the photograph.
The only draw back with this method seems to be that I can only post one picture per post and I have the no choice over where in the post it appears.
