I thought I knew the face, but I'd never have guessed it was him if you gave me a 1000 goes.

Now I keep looking at him, it's coming back to me though.

Looks like he has led a "full life";

Tom, you mentioned in another thread that you worked with Rory Stewart a few years back.

If it's not off-limits, what sort of project?

He's had quite a life one way & another for a man not yet 50.

Jesus I knew Steve in the 80's/90's, was a good friend of a business partner. Would never have recognised him from that photo.

I think he was environment minister at the time and he was involved in a scheme to allow Gypsies and Travellers to have negotiated period short-term stopping on sites that were earmarked for future development but currently unused.

I was just asked to go and see him in his office a few times for 'community member consultation'.

I keep seeing quite few what look like greenfinches or siskins(most of them have yellow bellies/breasts) in the tree outside my living-room window that has pink blossoms in early spring. I guess they must be eating the next stage of the ex-blossoms or some bugs that are.

I thought at first they were goldfinches when I spied the first flash of yellow but that may have been wishful thinking - still good to watch although even my shadow behind the net curtains can scare them away.

Greenfinches are on the big end of the finch scale, perhaps as big as a budgie, they are fairly bold and so you should be able to watch them easily.

Siskins are much smaller, something like blue tit size, they are quite shy so you will be doing well to see one close up.

This video of John Noakes climbing Nelson’s Column popped up on my fb page today. There’s quite a debate about Health & Safety but watching it again was compelling.
