Tom, what about a gas leak (propane) in the night in such a confined space, cause any concern or not?
Hopefully Tom has put the bottle in a locker with drop vents.

All factory produced campers, motorhomes and caravans have gas heating Trev, and accidents are very rare.
Propane has very little natural odour so the manufacturers add one to it. If there is the smallest leak you get an unbearable and unmistakable rotten egg smell.
As an additional safety measure the cylinder is always stored in a compartment that is separate from the sleeping area. This compartment should have a hole at the lowest point because propane is heavier than air and any small leaked amounts would just flow out like water. That BTW is why there are so many gas explosions on boats, watertight see, even tiny amounts of escaped gas, (like that that comes out before in the few seconds before you light the stove) just builds up until it is ignited.
So, my DIY job still follows the safety rules. Separate compartment, gas escape hole at the lowest point, and as a belt & braces measure, I turn the bottle off as part of my bedtime routine.

But your version is far more comprehensive and elegant

Heating in the camper van?
Tom used to park a little van in the car-park at places like DTD & Grosvenor Cardiff & kip there regularly, no matter what the weather, & never complained of the cold.
Think he's gone soft in his dotage.
To be honest Tone I don't like to sleep in a heated bedroom so I wouldn't use the heater if I were stumbling out of a casino at 4am, but when I'm just sitting in it reading my book on a chilly autmn afternoon or watching the sun come up on a frosty morning I do like a bit of warmth.
When Mrs Red & I go off and pretend we're still travelling we often like to park up somewhere with a view of the sea but all the best car parks and lay-bys have 'No Camping' signs. Because we don't look like a camper and our windows are not see through from the outside, we can get away with it.
When we're away Mrs Red likes to sleep in until about 8:30 or 9am where as I'm always up around 6am which suits me fine. I love to sit drinking a mug of tea and watching the world wake up. I especially enjoy watching people who don't know I'm there. (Not in a voyeuristic way you understand, after all, we are in a public place).
Anyway, having a heater means I don't have to start the engine and give the game away.

I wonder what it is about water that so fascinates us?
Many - most? - of us love a sea-view, or even to sit by a river or lake. We'll go miles to "see the sea", which, let's be honest, looks much the same wherever we are. Sea-View room in the Hotel? Always extra, but we always want it.
Gill & I are like kids when we drive down to, say, Brighton, there's a sort of childish race to see who sees the sea first.
Who has not excitedly blurted out "look, I can see the sea"?

I've actually pondered this quite a bit. I think it's something to do with the fact that the view, whilst ostensibly being the same, is always changing. It's, rough, then it's smooth, it comes in, it goes out, it's, crowded, then deserted, it's bright and sunny then it's dark and brooding....
There is also something about being able to see such a long way, to see the weather rolling in or the sun coming up.
And why is it so fascinating to watch a tiny boat, no more than a speck, slowly making its way across the canvas?
PS - I don't know about you but I get the same feeling when I'm looking out over a valley or a stretch of moorland.

Here's an interesting fact for you. (Well, here's a fact that interested me)
The boiling point for propane is..... wait for it... -42C.

Bless.
Beautifully fine soil texture too, no lumpy bits. Like SR flour almost.

Huh?
Their Mum sends a note to the School saying Axel won't be able to attend school today as he is worried about climate change?
You are kidding me, right?

Apparently, "Weight Watchers" came under the heading of another new phenom, "fat-shaming".
