I haven't been following this but mentions of this case are everywhere I read.
Is there a reason why a case like this gets such huge coverage. I don't object as I think the level of violence from men to women, and the lack of convictions, is a massive blight on society. Many women are murdered by men every year and apart from an honourable nod to women's groups and some politicians (eg Jess Phillips) the story of this is largely ignored.
I wonder why some cases catch a wave and others are just statistics.
I think it was because of the very dramatic and damning footage of the event and the fact that it was aired worldwide.
If it had been a video of a man beating his wife to death I think the result would have been the same.

It will be interesting to see how they mount a defence.

Glad it's not just me that gets confused sometimes.
They are discussing Sarah Everard, you are on the George Floyd case.

Would I get selected for jury duty?

In that case I defer to Arb's answer.

Not in the UK, you are over the age limit. (70).

I'm still watching jury selection, it's great viewing.
They all seem to struggle with the question, "Have you ever been convinced you were right and then found that you were wrong?"
I have, hundreds of times. Mostly when Mrs Red says, "You're wrong"

I was shocked and dismayed to discover the other day that I am now too old to hire a van at my local place.
How very dare they. I was driving vans back when you really had to drive them, no power steering, no servo brakes, no synchro-mesh gears, no heater, no radio, no seatbelt, no tax...

How old are you Tom? You are rather like my mother in the sense that you probably look much younger than you are because of your fit and active lifestyle. Tikay's bants about your age always throw me off but he is 100/1 to not be taking the piss about your age. My guess would be you are nowhere near 70 and probably 53-55. I assume you are probably 60 given your last reply.

That's the mid point! Vicky Coren's brother is currently on bbc2 doing a posh hotel show. Quite interesting watch if you are bored.
