The first two no hesitation, the third I will have to have a ponder on.

1) Ancient Egypt - the period just before Tutankhamuns death
2) Mayan Period Mexico - The building of Chitchen Itza

Excellent question Red.  This thread has been most gripping this week.

You're into the Ancients then? Cool. Have you been to Egypt?

LOL, just a tad, can you tell  Wink

I've been to both Egypt and Chitchen Itza - incredibly fascinating and thought provoking places.  There is a whole wealth of advanced mathematical/astrological knowledge to be learned from the Egyptians/Mayans.

Haven't done Mexico but I have been to Egypt, it blew me away. Totally stunning.

I wrote something about it somewhere, I'll try to find it.

1. the day my nan died, so i could say goodbye, even if she can't see me i would still be there.

2. time of jesus to see if he was real.

3. so many to choose from so i can change my mind, but maybe a walk with dinosaurs would be cool or walk around when the first crusaders/templars where about did they find solomans loot?, watch pearl harbour live, moon landing with front row seats. If you don't get hurt the nuclear attack on Japan. All major historic races, egyptians, mayans, indians or romans at thier peak.

You can post some of the ones that didn't make the final cut. i.e. Last day of the Titanic...

Scary thought, it cost more to make the movie than it cost to make the ship

Moonlanding.
D-day.
Rumble in the jungle.

Could pick millions

The rumble in the jungle was on telly last week, along with one of the Benn-Eubank fights. Did you see them?

They were proper gladiators back then, not like these namby pamby spoiled poofters you see nowadays.

Tom, did you ever see this show from a few years ago.

Im sure someone could find you a link to watch it

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0384972/

Benn and Eubank were trained to become real gladiators and used weapons of the day fighting each other. After years you could still see the hate and respect between the two

thanks for that, notched up a +1 on places to visit asap.

fwiw i think there is too much dramatism in these top 3 choices. I would love to see some dinos for sure, that would be cool. Also, i think phatom is spoton about speaking to ppl u knew well but didnt have the time (make the time?) to speak too, although im fortunate there are few of those. I guess id love to see english chalkstream rivers before they got destroyed by abstraction and the great barrier reef 15 years ago prior to coral bleaching.

Also, maybe hitlers bunker and the huge english shoots of yesteryear (just out of intrigue, i think they were barbaric, unsustainable and thoughtless in hindsight).

FWIW Tom i know you have phenomenal animal knowledge, could you please impart some of your thoughts on the training of a terrier puppy/ also some stories would be cool. I have just bought a border terrier.

Nope, never seed it jim, but would like to.

BTW- Mrs Red & I are thinking of doing a fly-drive, perhaps in November.

Maybe fly into San Francisco, then on to Vegas via death valley. Then see the Grand canyon, and possibly fly out from LA.

Can you get hire cars with sat-nav? (or are they cheap to buy over there?) what will the weather be like in Frisco, what should we try to see, any good routs etc?

Any thoughts?

Wow! Great choice. Borders are awesome,  they have all the good terrier traits combined with all the "big dog" temperament.

I will link you to a "must have" book for novice dog trainers, and talk more about Borders soon, but here is the most important piece of advice.

Teach it what "NO" means. Be totally consistant. No means stop doing whatever it is you're doing. End of>

1. The day Stone Henge was completed. A wild and crazy party atmosphere a couple of thousand years ago.

2. Jesus feeding 5,000 with 5 loaves and 2 fish. Would like to see that. Much better than Derren Brown lameness imo.

3. The moment my parents met for the first time as funky teenagers. That would be spinetingly good.
