As to the rules of the road, believe it or not, I still treat myself as a vehicle and do obey the rules, my only sin is I don't as yet, wear a helmet (I know it's not law but the missus and grandaughter peg me for it all the time.) I just can't get comfy wearing one.

I don't and won't wear a helmet. You can't protect yourself against every risk. Oh I know that you woud be safer waring a helmet, but you would also be safer wearing it while walking. (Or sitting on the sofa with Mrs Red for that matter)

Do/would you encourage your children/grandchildren to wear them Red?

What answer would you give a 10 year old who said, ''but Grandad, you don't wear yours''?

Love this bit:

Taxonomy
A squaddie is not a role or position as such, it's a state of mind. There are two basic people types: Squaddies and non-Squaddies (civvies). Many civvies show signs of squaddidom (such as drinking to excess, masturbating regularly and telling sick jokes), but unless you serve you can never truly be referred as a real squaddie.

We have a good few potential squaddies on blonde then..............Cpl Amatay step forward!!

Oh many times! we used to go to some of the bars that had bans on us in the early evening to see if we could get in, just to wind them up a bit.

Paras!!

A group of them once booted me down the stairs of the Globetrotter pub/club in Aldershot, my own fault probs as it was a Paras bar and I wasn't a Para.

What a great link. I love photography. We take it for granted in this digital age when we can take 100 pics a day, then revue our efforts immediately. Not only that, we can then bin all our failures at co cost.

Back in the day, you had to wait until the bloody things came back from the developer to find out that they were crap. (Often there was  a little note attached telling you where you went wrong)

Some fantastic pics in that collection, and, as Geo (the lecherous old bastard) pointed out, some stunning young actresses.

BTW- If anyone reading this happens to stumble across old photographs of any kind, pleaes post them, or a link to them on here.
