On a totally unrelated subject to anything recently seen on this thread

Which would you consider to be the most and least likely to cause danger to yourself and/or others?

a) Driving at 80 mph along a motorway after 3 pints of lager and slightly over the legal drink driving limit and looking at a convertible Mazda MX-5 as it goes past you

b) Driving at 80mph along a motorway whilst totally sober and taking a picture of a convertible Mazda MX-5 as it goes past you

c) Driving at 80 mph along a motorway whilst on a mobile phone and not noticing a Mazda MX-5 as it goes past you because you are actually looking forwards.

To add a bit of spice also consider the above whilst the outside temperature is below freezing so that there is a possibility of occasional ice patches.

I think I'm safe asking this today is I assume Kin is still too busy with his new bird to give his opinion on the subject.

You're just trying to turn something beautiful into something cheap and sordid.

Sorry. Didn't mean to mention Kin.

You killed that pesky rodent yet?

Cheesy

I'd answer your question Matt, but it's not like me to give an opinion unless it's asked for... Wink

So what would your opinion be? Just the answer please, no need to explain why.

Gratuitous mental cruelty imo.

All are more dangerous than driving the MX-5 with the roof down at 85mph assuming the road conditions are good (it being -2 doesn't make a motorway inherently dangerous).

Last night, our freezer (Which lives in the portacabin) stopped working because it was too cold.

I checked with uncle google and he said that the sensor would not tell the motor to start if the outside temp was too low, but that the temp inside the freezer would rise causing the food to spoil. Go figure.

Uncle google also said that it was possible that the oil on the freezer motor had frozen, causing the motor to burn out. (Perhaps I should have put some antifreeze in the freezer)

Anyway. Mrs Red and I spent a very chilly half hour putting all the food from the freezer into a bag and hanging it from the bough of a tree. (Out of reach of bears). In the meanwhile, the little electric heater that I had put on to warm out hands as we worked caused the temperature inside the portacabin to rise be a few degrees, and the freezer started working again.

By this time, we were too cold to bother putting the food back in, so we left it where it was.

I'm going to have my breakfast now. Pass me that ladder....

Are the bears a big problem in your area Red?

Actually, at this time of year, rats and other small rodents are desperately hungry and you have to be very careful about leaving food where they can get at it.

I brought some onions home on my bike the other day, and I inadvertently left them on top of a cardboard box in the shed. The mice found them and ate the lot. (That's onions BTW, imaging what they would do to my lamb chops)

I only said bears because I didn't want Tony to start a "Save the Rats" campaign.

December '08, our kids had advent calendars similar to this hanging from the end of the curtain poles above the headboard on their beds

"Muuuuuum, why has this chocolate coin got tiny teeth marks in it?"

Mum was mildly freaked out to say the least.

Thanks to Little Nippers, the score so far this winter is Me 6 Mice 0.

I can't stand much more of this dumbing down on TV.

I've just watched the news and they spent the first half hour warning us that snow is cold, and ice is slippy. Then they told us what to put in our cars for those "Strictly essential" journeys. A mobile phone, (Fully charged) a blanket, a shovel, a flask of tea, a bucket of grit, a torch...

"Remember, when walking on snow and ice, there is a very real danger of slipping or falling". Well Durrr.... No shit Shirlock.

The weather girl even did wiggly fingers to indicate what falling snow would look like.

ARRRGGGHHH!!!!
