Do you game select at DTD Tom?
Let's say there was one seat on the direct right of someone like Mitch and that's it would you wait for a better game or would you sit?
I mean obviously not gonna get to sit down with position on Hopkin every time you play.
I never EVER sit on the right of Mitch. (Ask him) and I table select as much as I can.
I don't think that's the problem though. as I say, I can't believe that the game has suddenly become unbeatable for me. I think I've just had a really bad run and got a bit gun-shy. My confidence has taken a bashing.
BTW- For those of you that are familiar with the £1/2 game at DTD, what would you consider to be an adequate bankroll?
Depends how much you normally sit with. I'd want min £20k - £30k + so I could sit with £400/500 and feel comfortable.

My roll is currently more than £10k but less than £20k, so time to take stock I think.
While on the bankroll subject, my poker roll is separate to my "Life Roll" which is "security" money, and as such, is separate and sacrosanct.
That being said, what if my poker roll falls below £10k? (Say to 8 or 9k) Do I quit the £1/2 game immediately or what?

To be honest Tom, I'm really not one to preach about bankroll management and software since I've cost myself thousands not applying either to my poker very well in the past.
However, the one thing I'm completely fine with now is live poker.
When running bad as you are now, I wouldn't really be playing the £300 etc, I'd just be grinding out the cash games.
If you're bankroll dips to £8-9k as you said I'd definitely jump in the £0.50/1 game for a while. The rake doesn't hurt like you think as the players are so bad and you'd definitely build your roll up again. If you're making £500/week in the £1/2 I'd be surprised if you didn't make the same or more in the £0.50/1 each week.

If you see your own stats, you'll know when you're raising too much from certain positions, c-betting too many flops etc etc so regardless of your oponents, if you're really anti tracking everyone you can make your own game as tough and leak free as possible.

Yes, I did build a good bankroll online playing mtt's on Ladbrokes, but Laddies used to be a "Stand alone" site that offered the long clock, deep stack, bigger buy-in smaller field comps, and they were my bread and butter. Now they have amalgamated with several other sites on the Microgaming network and they only offer small buy-in re-buys, not my cup of tea at all.
All true but things are changing there slowly. They now have a Ladbrokes-only €300+€20 once a month which is 5000 chips, 20 minute blinds and an even slower structure than it was before. It's €30k gtd and limited to 100 entries. Planned to become more frequent, it's sold out the first two times they've run it. Next one is 8th Feb.
There's also a €100 freeeze at 8.30pm each night. €5k gtd, same structure as above and usually has an overlay of a few hundred euros. Played as an 8 seater.

Lol. I have absolutely no qualms about Going back to work, (I'm already making contingency plans) But I do so enjoy poker, and push hasn't come to shove just yet.
BTW- I've never had a "normal" job, as in employment.

Other job 3 days a week, poker the rest, best of both worlds. I bet you would enjoy the game more as well.............

I can see RED-DOG's point, even if using something like Holdem Manager without the HUD to see his own stats and plug his leaks and wotnot, his opponents can still use the software to see stats on him.
With STTs, and MTT SNGs though, I don't think it would be that big a deal.
If I see the stats of an opponent and see that he is a solid player, I'm not going to know too much more than if I wasn't using a HUD. All regs play pretty much the same game, with some being a little nittier than others, so I wouldn't need to number crunch much to know, more or less, what they're doing.
I don't know cash well, but I can imagine the stat thing would be a much bigger issue. there being far more dimensions to the strategy. I guess there's a lot of value in knowing your own stats for that session and using them to level mutli-tabling regs.
