Sure was. Calling some the centre of an adverse weather condition.

Still, could have been worse.  You could have called her an occluded front.

People have forgotten what's important and if it's not the 'latest/greatest', they aren't interested.  I guess I'm one of the odd ones in life who likes the simple things most.  Would be great if things slowed down a bit for everyone imo.

I've just finished reading Flora McDonald's Lark Rise to Candleford, what you wrote there reminded me of the story. The whole concept of being happy with the simple things is very central to the life then (very central on account of they pretty much only had the simple things Smiley ).

I'd recommend it, I think you'd like it - and all in all I'd recommend it generally as it's just beautifully written.

PS  Thanks for the read mention Jon.  Will hunt that one down as I'm always on the look out for good new reads.

At the minute, I've been glued to anything by Marian Keyes because she keeps me proper laughing out loud.

Flora McDonald was the rescuer of Bonnie Prince Charlie.

Flora Thomson wrote Lark Rise.

Haven't read the book but have seen quite a bit of the BBC adaptation on Sundays. Don't know how close it's been to the book but it is beautifully written with some great characters and some real comedic gems within.

If you haven't seen it there should be something on Iplayer.

Ha! thanks Geo, I don't usually go so far as remembering any of an authors name - so that was pretty good for me. Cheesy

I do like the TV adaptation, but after having read the book I'd say they've made a hash of it - as good as it is I'd say that after seeing the source material they really could have done it even better.

EDIT: I even looked at the article I hyperlinked the book name to and still didn't notice it was Thomson and not McDonald

Love to know what that'd be rhyming slang for Cheesy

I love Larkrise to Candleford and have been disappointed it has not been on the last two weeks.  It is one of my favourite programmes and I will have to get the book.

I noticed this the other day. It were in a spot where t' 'oss had done his business in t' back field.

It's the first time I've seen a tree pitching camp. Will update on progress next summer, assuming we both make it.

Regular pictures needed Tom so that you can do one of those time lapse videos if it makes it.

Don't just leave it 'til next summer. Take at least 1 every week especially now while it'll doing it's fastest growing.

If you can set up a little makeshift platform for your camera so that every shot is the same it could make very interesting viewing.
