Mel Gibson
When most people think of him now, they think of two things: his anti-Semitic ravings one night, and
The Passion of the Christ
. That film, as I recall, presented a pretty unambiguous view that Jews were responsible for the death of Jesus.
There are also long running suggestions and evidence of homophobia and racism I think. I suppose I'll have to google now
Before his anti-semitic comments were recorded and publicised I reckon he'd be film star/director first, and "personal views" controversies second, but now, not so sure.

At least he's not a scientologist. They're dangerous you know.
I'm not so sure Passion was made either consciously or unconsciously as an anti-semitic film (IMHO of course). Certainly wouldn't have said that after I watched it, although the later drunken rantings cast doubt on that view. The bible's fairly unambiguous about it; varies by gospel of course. Incredible film though, I thought, and pretty brave to make it (I thought at the time, at least).

Hehe, all religions are dangerous. It's the idea of religious privilege and therefore the idea that one has power over another.
But anyway, back to Mad Mel. Yeah, he's a pretty bad nut. No one would care about his opinions if he hadn't been in Lethal Weapon or Braveheart though.

It was our wedding anniversary on Friday. 33 incredible years.
I've had a busy week and, to my eternal shame, I forgot all about it.
Did she get
A: Upset?
B: Angry?
C: Amused by my embarrassment, and laugh at me all day?
PS- Doesn't she look hot in this pic?
