Today I will mostly be.....  Doing exactly as I like!

I'm not opening any emails, and I'm not answering the phone for anything work related. So there.

Luton tonight, £100 Freezeout, 8pm, 11,500 chips, 2 x 45 mina, then 30 mina all the way, all levels.

If you fancy it, & want to arrive earlier, we could go visit the Weir. I was there a few days ago, & the heron was standing guard atop the weir, those two huge brown trout were swimming around in that pool, & the Egyptian Geese goslings we saw are quite big now. The Jackdaws were everywhere, too.

Very tempting, but so is the thought of just pottering around at home. Play a little online, inspect the plants, talk to the horse, watch some TV, eat something nice...

Then again, there are more fish in Luton than those ones in the weir.....

Dithering....

You kept that quiet, spill the beans!

When did that arrive, gender, age, quirks, personality, details?

Mare.

~ 8

Doesn't like her head movement to be too restricted.

Sweetheart - Bombproof.

13:2. Black. Good underworks, strong joints, nice head, decent feather. Proven fertile. Fully broken, ride & drive.

Change the 13:2 for 5ft 10 and its an almost perfect description of a hooker my mate got a hold of in Vegas a few years back.

NOW......with all the money-laundering precautions currently in place, more gyspies need more horses (as currency) so there's a kinda of boom in horse prices right now, & they trade for many times their practical value.

tut tut...

gGuilty as charged.

But I'm glad that link has been Posted, as it got me reading some stuff I wrote 4 years back. I so miss writing, & yearn to take it up again.

I found a Diary of mine from 6 or 7 years ago, when cleaning out my home, post-flood, & it was full of memories, I actually opened a page at random & found a Final I had made in Blackpool with Trigg, but it had THE most amazing & curious backstory to it.  I bet no two people on blonde would agree on the correct outcome to what was a most peculiar poker incident.

The very next week, I was, it seems, in St Petersburg, (the Russian version) and again, there was a very odd, & quite frightening, poker backstory, something not a soul on blonde would ever believe, the kids would just say "pah, not possible". But it happened.

I really must get back to writing more.

If only there were more hours in the day, or I were younger.

Was it  about my mate  in Blackpool Tony ? I was talking to bradders who went on to win said event. He was that upset that the chips were removed from play and my mate could not ante away so taking away any chance of laddering up the prizes. Bradders reckoned that some of you wanted to play in the car park.

No, that was in Moscow. St Petersburg is an altogether different place, in so many ways, to Moscow.

I doubt I'll ever visit Moscow again, nothing abouit the place appealed to me, except observing the extraordinary corruption & decadence, whereas re-visiting St Petersburg is near the top of my Bucket List, & if I don't go again soon, I'll be a daft bugger.

When you say "Nearly at the top of my bucket list" it makes me wonder what else is up there.

I wonder what is at the top of other people's bucket list?

I'm doing a cruise with the wife for our 15th anniversary at the end of July. Baltic - we do Copenhagen, Stockholm, Helsinki, Tallinn, St Petersburg, Gothenburg. 2 days in St P. Got an organised tour sorted with a local company (it's either that or get your own Visa, which seems OTT for 2 days). Go to all the major places. I'm really looking forward to it. Anywhere particularly impressive you recommend?

Edit: Sorry, just noticed I'm on the wrong diary. Should have put this on yours...

I don't know who your mate is, Jase, so no idea.

Bradders? If you mean Andy Bradshaw, I'm shocked to hear that he was upset, not at all like him, eh? Fancy that.

I found the Diary weeks ago, & have been meaning to write the tale ever since.

I will do, too, but I'll stick it on my Diary, I am trespassing on Tom's here.

Rex - kill me if I do not reply to that within the next day or two. Yes yes yes, I will mention the "impressive" places in St Petersburg. If you have not been there before, prepare to be very impressed. There is no City on earth (that I have visited) quite like it.

Moscow is surprisingly expensive too, as bad if not worse than London.........

Eye-wateringly so.

We were lucky - sort of, I think - in that we each had a chaeuffeur & car waiting on us, 24/7, so we travelled for free, & the drivers were in the know as to the right/wrong places to visit.

We visited a sort of up-market knocking shop one night, think it was called "Airport Lounge" or somesuch, & were immediately surrounded by THE most beautiful Russian women you could ever imagine, & you sit down, & they are all over you. Then they mention prices - starting at $2,000.....ugh. I really cba with that sort of stuff.

We were in a Casino, it was managed by a Brit, & he had a private restaurant upstairs, & we spent an evening with him & all sorts of Russian Mafia types, scary.

Gidzo nearly caused a riot, we were doing commentary on a game, & he got accused of passing hole card info to "our" players, it got a bit nasty tbh. Then he sort of anti-mocked a local cash-game, they were teasing "come & sit with us if you are hard enough". We ( 4 of us, Ronnie De Boleaux, Pat Keene, Gidzo & me) ) had just won $90,000, & it was in a huge "brick" of brand new $100 bills, & he just threw it on the Table & said "ok, chips please". Jeez.

We were paid for the trip, too, I think about $3,000 each, + hotel & travel.

Gidzo & I also picked up the gig to go to Helsinki a month later to lay the commentary on the televised game once it had gone through the Editing Suite, we agreed a fee of €900 per day + exs I think. All in all, I earned about $7,000 in fees on the trip.

I sent the bill a month later to the guy who had organized it, nice chap, from Northampton I think. His missus wrote back to me immediately, "I'm sorry to tell you, my husband was killed in a light aircraft crash two weeks ago", so that was $7k down the swanee. I could hardly write to her & say "yeah, ul lady, now send me the money". I googled it, & he had indeed been killed. So that was that.

Still, we chopped $90k 4 ways, so we got about $22,500 each. Until we got busted at Moscow Airport, that is, & Ronnie had his confiscated - the lot - & Pat had $15,000 confiscated. I fessed up at Immigration & was never fined a penny, though I only had $8k or so on me, as I'd sort of, err, got a bit jiggy with the rest & sent it home via unconventional means.....I think Gidzo just stuffed his down his pants, they never check lunch boxes.

So we had to re-divvy the remains up, post-Customs, & I think I ended up $10k ahead or whatever.
