So, why liquorice licks for livestock?
They were impregnated with vitamins and minerals, the liquorice was just the cow equivalent of a spoonful of sugar.
Me and Tracy have never had wooden tongue, bloat or swollen udders.
I give up......

I'm about to go across there now, Geo.
It's a habit thing. Log on, check the Mods board, check the interesting Diaries & threads, then check Tom's. Only then do I go to my Diary.
Bit like when I eat a meal. Start with the peas, ends with the spuds, always leave the best until last.

Funny you say that I always eat all veg and spuds and leave the meat till last, it was the only way as a youngster I was able to finish a meal and avoid the rile of the parents and still do it to this day.

By the way, I'm so glad you never mixed up the words "cement" & "concrete". Nothing is more tilting than hearing "I have a cement floor", or "I purchased a bag of concrete".
Concrete is the end product arising from the mixture of portland cement, aggregate, & water.
Same with ceiling & roof, so many people confuse them. Or slates & tiles.
What do you think about all those businesses that are looting many of the offshore sandbanks for "aggregate"?
Expand, please, Ralph? (Not as in Tom's waistline, but as in "I'm not sure what you mean").
I saw a programme on the telly very recently about sandbanks being dredged for concrete with unfortunate repercussions, perhaps it was an old repeat but it did not seem so.
Where's Gatso when he's needed?

Just watching "Wild Russia". It shows deer going down to the beach to eat kelp for it's salts and minerals, then an amur tiger comes to stalk the deer.
What an incredibly vast and diverse country.

He is ignorant on matters pertaining to concrete, we are safe.
Back in the day, there was a lot of sea-dredging for aggregates & sand, but I'm surprised if it is still done, except perhaps in less developed parts of the world.
I'm curious, if it is still done around UK waters, what it is used for.

When we were young, you daren't leave the best till last. If you happened to look away for a moment, the best would be gone. Then you had to stare at each sibling in turn to see which one was doing a hamster impression.

Construction standards during the 60's, 70's, & 80's "boom" were quite dreadful. Then Guy arrived.......
There'll be a big bill to pay eventually. Birmingham - the first major UK connurbation to upgrade their road system, suffered the worst of it, by far.
