Patent wars: Stripping the iPhone bare

This is an interesting Technology article.

(Prospective geeky corries take note, this is the type of thing I'm looking for)

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-17040699

In which case, you'll probably like this. Business of patents, but you've got to love the headline:

Apple seeks permission to kick Kodak's corpse

Thanks Rex. I'm a huge fan of good headlines.

I liked this bit too.

Apple has asked the New York branch of the US Bankruptcy Court for permission to sue what's left of Kodak....

THat reminds me Red - been meaning to post this for Tikay for ages: the old station house down at the bottom of my road has been completely renovated (ie down to the walls and re-roofed the lot) and is now a holiday let.

They did a beautiful job, but it's still right beside the railway.....

http://www.sanquharstation.co.uk/stationmastershouse_today

How wonderful, thanks Rod.

Whilst in the West Highlands over Christmas, found a similar thing, though this was a self-catering affair, at beautiful place called Plockton. For non-Scots, Plockton is on the shore of Loch Carron, just south of the Applecross Peninsula. I'm bound to say, it was the greatest holiday I have ever had, & I'll be booking my next trip up within the next few days.

Their website is here......

http://www.plocktonstation.co.uk/index.asp

Worth clicking "Plockton in Pictures", &, less probably I guess, "Trainspotting".

You very probably know of Plockton, very odd but beautiful spot, it has palm trees & all sorts.

My own rather poor photos of Plockton Station & Plockton itself, taken on a rather wet & windy Xmas Eve......

People are gone a bit loopy, so I checked the status of the moon.  New moon next week and full moon not until March 8th.  Anyone know anything about moons and stuff?

This is a great pic. I love the way those wrought iron pillars in the foreground give it a sense of perspective, and how the white line of the platform's edge leads the viewers eye to the locomotive.

I like the reflection of the lights in the tarmac too, it really helps portray the 'Wet day' atmosphere.

Excellent.

Strangely, I always notice a full moon, and, (Much to Mrs Red's amusement), I always remember what I was doing last full moon.

A sheer fluke, Tom, I had not read those "Top Tips" you linked to then, so now I'm lmost embarrassed to post any photos of my own.

Never mind, got my new Camera today - the Coolpix L120 - so I'm alllllllll set.

I'm yanking your chain a little Tone, what do I know? (but it is a great pic IMO, and for those reasons).

As many good photographs are produced by accident as by design, and what appeals to one person wont appeal to another. Just take shit-loads and keep experimenting.

Bugger, I'm so gullible, I take everything at face value!

Anyway, to me, all my Scotland photos are wonderful, because they spark memories of a great holiday in a great place, & they make me happy.
