Required reading / listening. Seventy years ago this week a group of some 200 men from the factories of Manchester and Sheffield exercised what they believed was their God-given right to walk across the mountains and moorland of the Derbyshire Peak District.

Funnily enough I've always had a hankering to visit Wales' Southern coast, the bit opposite Devon. It's supposed to be some of the most dramatic and beautiful scenery there is in Britain with some fantastic golf courses such as Royal Porthcawl and Southerndown amonst the most renowned. One of these days... |

The groom in that wedding looked very much like Josh Charnley, who plays on the wing for Wigan Warriors (rugby league for the uninitiated). Think it's the hair, as otherwise they're not that similar. The reason I mention it is because Charnley often mentions his Gypsy heritage on Twitter - usually when the Gypsy wedding programme is on telly.
Anyway, he's also one of the most outstanding young talents in rugby league in this country, and the leading try-scorer in the league going into this week's fixtures.

THat's a hell of a distance though - done in parts I suppose it'd be alright. For a smaller version a guy I know did the Arran coast walk - took him a few days & got a fantastic mix of countryside/coast. Weather & holidays permitting I might give that a bash in the summer. |

I'm glad there's no law of trespass in Scotland. You can be asked to leave someone's land, but in general wild camping and walking are there for everyone without restriction. |

Yes Rod. I estimate it would take the best part of two months to walk the entire path. It would be a great project to do it in week-sized chunks though. |

I've never put a bet on online, (I don't bet) but I love to watch the snooker, and I think I would like to have a little wager on some of the matches.
Can someone advise me about things like opening a betting account, finding the best odds and so on?
