There aren't any direct ones Tom.

Don't think there's any direct ones from any UK airport by the looks of it.

Blimey! The best I can find is ~ 6 hour journey, and that doesn't include travelling to / from & waiting at airports, so like probs 9 hours all together.

You can do it in just under 3 hours via Amsterdam using KLM then Air France. Transfer might be a bit of a run though.

Have a scroll through these Tom. You should find something to suit.

Sorry Matt, but that looks like just under 3 hours flying time, but 6 hours waiting for my connection.

Basel has trains to Strasbourg and direct flights to the uk.  Just a quick scan at the timetables gives a 1 hr 15 train time.  Any better?

40 minutes can be pushing it in Schipol - big damn airport & could struggle if changing terminal & you hit crowds at passport control.

Yes. I can see now thanks Matt although as Rod says we could be cutting it fine.

I've booked a longer but safer option, which means I have to spend a couple of hours in Paris with Mrs Red.

It's a tough job, but someone has to do it.

Sounds like a great trip and quite an honour as well as being important work.

I thought it may be something like this given it was Strasbourg and I have to say was really surprised that there were no direct fllights from the UK.

Flight and an hour on the train sounds like a good option to me, trains are good for a bit of a look see and pretty welll run over there

Could you not just do the whole trip on the train?
