was in lunch or an all you can eat breakfast?

Must have been lunch. 'All you can eat' does not compute.

yeah i think anyone offering you an all you can eat breakfast would go bust

POKER CONTENT ALERT!

When I'm approaching the money or FT bubble, I find I fare much better if I'm dying for a wee.

Theories welcome.

I played my PLO tourney last night for an hour ten-handed on the bubble.

You'd have really enjoyed that had you been busting your gut for a lemon dash.

Surely it's got to be better to sit out for a minute or two?

At my age, the choice is clear-cut.

No. I told you I always fare better when I'm dying for a wee.

Anyway, I usually have approx 4bb when we're on the bubble.

I can't see how it would make a difference. Must just be a coincidence. Or maybe Urine a more concentrated state?

It is all in the mind Tom.

If we need to pass water, or carry out an exacuation of the bowel department, we can usually control matters even if we know it will be 3, 4 or even 5 hours before we arrive at a suitable moment & place. However.......the last few minutes will always be desperate, whether the wait is 3 minutes or 3 hours.

Those last few steps after you unlock the front door can be pretty awkward. I can strongly recommend very short steps & maximum clenchage.

Apochryphally - Enoch Powell held the belief that the need to pee helped to concentrate the mind.
(source QI - http://www.comedy.co.uk/guide/tv/qi/episodes/10/8/  coincidentally the episode where Stephen Fry shuffles a deck of cards and claims to be the first ever to have shuffled them into that specific order)

Alternatively - your desire to pee outweighs your caution around the bubble and you adopt an aggressive style in order to burst the bubble before you burst?

Wow Dave! I think you may be on to something here.

I can't decide which theory I like best,

By the way. Have you noticed that while loads of people wax lyrical about Derbyshire or Yorkshire, "God's own County" etc, no one seems to give a shit about Leicestershire.

I think you need hills to be lyrically waxed about. We ain't got many. Though, satisfyingly, Bardon Hill at 912 feet ranks us 25th highest out of 48 English counties, leaving Notts (39th - snortle!), Northants (38th) and Warwickshire (29th) eating dirt. We'll draw a veil over Derbyshire as the Peak District clearly belongs in Yorkshire.

Excellent. I'm a Yorkshireman at heart but It's great to hear some positive comments about my adopted County.

More please.

Dawn isn't always there.

You'll miss me when I'm gone.

In the same way Pompeii missed Mt Vesuvius?

That was like a drop-down menu for multiple tap-ins.

I am so glad my subtle post  got this thread active again. It was a bit like that story of Mozart that they ran on Blue Peter in the 70's. To get him out of bed his mother would play part of a chord on the piano and he couldn't lie in bed with the chord unfinished. Welcome back.
