After admitting that it was actually chicken and not some substitute, she wandered off (mentally noting that she should in future just pretend not to speak English whenever a party of middle-aged Scots enquired about the menu) |

Too late Ralph. Exactly. I always think it's a waste of breath when folk say that. Yes, it's usually the eastern Europeans trying to sell their wares in our local shopping mall centre. I usually reply 'you just did' and walk off. I know they are only trying to do their job but if I wanted their product I'd bloody well ask. |
